Who are Chris and Bryce? (Behind the Scenes at NerdSync!) | NerdSync Podcast #15
Today we're taking a look behind the scenes at NerdSync and asking the question "Who are Bryce and Chris?" We're getting into how we all met each other, what we all do at NerdSync, and more! We're also diving into some behind the scenes of NerdSync's early years and how those were just a disaster. Hope you enjoy this fun episode, and we'll be back to talking about comic books next week! iTunes: http://nerdsyn.cc/NSP_15_ Stitcher: http://nerdsyn.cc/NSP_15_Stitcher YouTube: http://nerdsyn.cc/NSP_15_YouTube
CM Update: The Flash
You guys had to have seen this one coming. Tent-pole programming at it's finest! We're tackling a very bizarre Flash story next week in honor of the new TV show coming in just a few days.
CM Update: Whiteboard
Here's a picture of just some of my thought process in making today's video. I need a bigger whiteboard to fit more info on.
What REALLY Happened to Spider-Man's Parents?
As we all know, Peter Parker was raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben after his parents died in a plane crash. But what is the real story behind Richard and Mary Parker, and who was responsible for their deaths? We're going to take a look at the Amazing Spider-Man movies to compare and contrast the history of the characters in the comics. We're also going to be making predictions for the future of the Amazing Spider-Man franchise that will likely involve a man by the name of Gustav Fiers, aka the Gentleman!
CM Update: Peter Parker's Parents
Working hard on tomorrow's video that will be all about what happened to Peter Parker's parents. It could get complicated, but it's totally awesome!
CM Update: This Week's Topic
This alternate ending from Amazing Spider-Man 2 might shed some light on what we're talking about this week on Comic Misconceptions! Any guesses?
Gotham Pilot Review and Discussion! | NerdSync Podcast #14
Per your many requests, we're talking about the premiere of a new comic book tv show, Gotham! Set many years prior to Bruce Wayne dawning the cape and cowl, Gotham tells the origin stories and histories of some of the Caped Crusader's biggest allies and enemies. Scott, Chris, and Bryce talk about the good, the bad, and the penguiney… I guess. We're discussing favorite characters so far, hopes and predictions for the show, and a few easter eggs here and there! What did you think of the show? Let us know in the comments! HOSTED BY...
New 52 Origin of the Giant Penny!
Someone in the comments of the last video pointed out that I neglected to mention the New 52 origins of the giant penny. I'm kind of sad that I forgot about it because I really enjoyed how it played into the story. Basically, Batman is just starting out his crime fighting career when Riddler takes control of the entire city. Lucius Fox then rigs up a giant penny statue outside of Wayne Enterprise to act as a conductor that blocks Riddler's signal. Really cool stuff!
History of the Oversized Joker Card
As I said before, I couldn't fit the origin of the Joker card into today's episode. So I made a quick and dirty PDF that goes over what I found and uses full pages of the issue in question in case you wanted to read it for yourself! You can download the PDF in the top left corner of this post I think. Still figuring things out. Let me know if you have problems. And also let me know if you like this stuff. I might do it again for other things that hit the cutting room floor.
CM Update: Batcave #3
Here's a before and after shot of the work I did on the video thumbnail. I really wanted the t-rex and penny to stand out, so I went and manually colored them in with a brighter green and bronze respectively to help them pop out of the background and become easier to see. Still a work in progress, but I think it's getting there. Just a little glimpse at a bit of the work we put in at each level of the show!
CM Update: Batcave #2
Unfortunately, I won't have the origin of the giant Joker card in this episode. After doing research on it, the origin of it hasn't been revealed. Also, what I did find and originally had written into the episode felt like it dragged the whole video and ruined the flow quite a bit. So I cut it out of the script. I would have liked to talk about it, but it just didn't work. Don't fret, I think I'll make up a quick PDF (or something) about what I have on the card so you loyal Patrons can see for yourself all the info I manage...
Bryce's Favorite Batman Moment!
This is the video clip that Bryce was talking about on today's NerdSync Podcast about the best of Batman!
Batman Week!
Last night, we recorded a new podcast all about our favorite Batman things! Who's the best Batman actor? What's the best Batman movie? The best Batmobile? And much, much more. That will be coming on Monday and line up perfectly with a Batcave themed CM on Wednesday, then topped off with a review of the new Gotham TV show the following Monday. We have lots of Batman coming your way real soon! If I can think of one more Batman episode of CM to do, we can turn this in to a Batman fortnight...
Behind the Scenes: Comic Misconceptions Set
In case you missed it, here's the first behind the scenes video going over the room that I record in!
CM Update: Batcave
With the new Gotham tv show coming next week, I thought I would jump on something I've always wanted to learn about: Where did all the trophies in the Batcave come from? Specifically, I think I'll tackle the dinosaur, Joker card, and the infamous giant penny!
