What conspiracy theories are huge in YOUR country or your city?

I'm currently doing some research on an alien conspiracy theory, and it got me thinking about how I know so many conspiracy theories with a US focus, but not as many from other places in the world. If you have a local conspiracy theory (it could be your city...your country, anywhere) that is huge where you live, but people across the world might not know about it, I would love to add it to my list of things to research!

I am reading this fascinating book called Girl on Girl: How Pop Culture Turned a Generation of Women Against Themselves by Sophie Gilbert and just wanted to shout out different passages that stuck out to me. It covers pop culture through a timeline, and how different eras of pop culture ('losing your virginity' romcom movies, tabloids, photoshoots, porn, Us Weekly sections, etc) have all impacted culture and made women turn on each other. It is sometimes disheartening to read, but also fascinating!!!
