Foxx talks!
Reposted this because for some reason the video link on the original didn’t work. The arctics are so chatty in the spring and we love listening to them. Here’s Foxx telling us all about his day!
Vixie and Finnegan!
These two are wonderful to watch together. Mates for life, of that we are sure! Happy hump day from all of us (fuzzy and otherwise) at Fox HQ!

SAVEAFOX Weekly Roundup
All the latest news and gossip from the fox yards!- Meet Bell! Late Saturday afternoon we were contacted by a family who desperately needed to place their puppy; she was born blind and deaf and had been attacked by their resident dog and cat. Bell is so sweet and we will shortly be looking for a very special home for her. If you know anyone who has experience with special needs dogs and is looking for a new family member, please send them our way!- spring cleaning has started in earnest! The winters in Minnesota are brutal and we always get a b...
Pan’s X-rays
We wanted to share with you the x-rays that were taken of Pan’s broken leg at the vet on the weekend. We will have an update from the specialist, hopefully tomorrow, which will give us an indication of whether they think they can repair the leg or whether unfortunately he will need an amputation. As you can see, the lateral view of the leg break gives you the best idea of how severe a break it is. We’ve said before that fox bones aren’t rough and tough like dog bones, they’re very delicate, more like bird bones, is the best way that we...
Happy Caturday
Here is a throwback of Savannah our bobcat as a kitten!
Prepping Pan's cage
The foxes don't like new arrivals. So we need to make sure no injuries between cages can happen. Around here we call hardware wire 'bite guards'.
Fwanny and the blustery day
It’s an incredibly windy day here at Saveafox; being out in corn country there is nothing to stop it when it howls through and quite often the foxes will hide. This morning, Franny decided that she didn’t want to be outside in the wind but she does regularly check to see if it safe to come out yet!
Pan meets Shiloh
Ever since Shiloh arrived, we’ve been looking for a friend for him. Because he’s so small and because he’s so gentle, we knew it may take sometime to find the right fit. After meeting Pan in New York, Mikayla thought they may be a good fit - similar size, similar age. When Pan finished seeing the vet yesterday, Mikayla introduced him to Shiloh and we’re so pleased to share this introduction with you. Shiloh is a very particular little fox and as you can see, he doesn’t like other foxes touching his things so they won’t be bunk mates...
Pandora? It's a boy!
From our NY rescue!Previously thought to be a girl. Pandora or maybe we should call him.... Pan? Goes to his very first vet appointment. To get his broken leg X-rayed, vaccinations, and a parasite preventative. The vet concluded his injury is 4-7 days old. He has three fractures! It's possible they may have to amputate. We won't know until we hear from the specialist next week. For now his leg has been splinted and wrapped--->Second photo is the conditions he was living in :(

Team Fox - Rescue Mission: New York pt 2
Before I get to February 2020, I need to step back a couple of weeks. In December and January, there were several posts about the foxes, the first asking to help raise funds - thousands and thousands of dollars - to build enclosures, the next set, sadly detailed the loss of two of the foxes lives. There was never anymore information than that; we knew that this could not stand - it was bad enough that they were not prepared to care for them in advance of receiving them and had knocked back every and all offers of help; but now, two of the foxes...
Team Fox - Rescue Mission: New York pt.1
I’m going to split the following tale in to two parts because it’s been so long on the offing and we want to tell the story properly.Since November last year we have been fighting for the safety of a group of 31 foxes in New York State. These foxes were taken in by a ‘rescue’ from a fur farm. We were alerted to their situation after being contacted by a friend of one of our board members who had seen the conditions they were living in. They were in dog crates, stacked on top of one another and living in their own filth. Right from the b...
***UPDATED***Mala goes to the vet!
This is not our big reveal, but today is a huge day for another reason too. Today, our beautiful Mala goes to the vet to be spayed and, as part of that process, they will collect the stem cells required for Mouse and that journey will begin. We are so excited to be able to tell you guys this today and share more with you once we have some photos, which will be taken by the vet tech whilst the process goes on. Once we know how Mala is doing, we will give you a bit more info but we just wanted to let you know that today is the day the day someth...
Good morning Notch!
Today we will have HUGE news for you - something we have been working on for months is finally happening. We can’t say more right now, but this is a hell of a thing and a huge part of it is down to you - to your support and your generosity. What we do today, we couldn’t have done without you and supporters like you.
Lumi wears a huge smile
But when she arrived here last July, she was so shy and so frightened, we weren’t sure if she’d ever feel safe enough to come out of her shell. Lumi was bought with a male arctic fox by someone who wanted to breed them; this person knew nothing about foxes or what they need to breed successfully, so kept them in a basement. When there were no babies, they gave up and rehomed the male quickly, but not Lumi because she was just too shy. Luckily, we were able to take her and now she spends her days playing with Foxx Foxington and the rest of h...

Happy Finnegan Friday!!
We know how uncertain and sometimes scary things are at the moment, and here at Fox HQ we are feeling the pinch and that uncertainty just like the rest of you, but we still want to ensure that we can bring you the best content that will bring a smile to your face and that will also help engage our foxes when they aren’t getting the number of visitors that they are used to.We really do just want to say thank you so very much for your continued support of the rescue, of the foxes, of the team here; it really does mean the absolute world to us a...
