And now Tiki was over a long, stretch of seabed that was smooth but was littered here and there with rubble and corpses and iron birds and flies. The birds were mostly neatly stacked, their heads laying low on the surface as if trying waiting to be fed. But the flies were rather damaged and badly skewed, their bodies scarred and charred and sometimes labeled by white symbols that were simple swooshes, strokes, or rectangles. Tiki thought lightning may have struck them while mid-air. But the interiors of the cleaner ones looked cozy, like inside...
