Changing Perspective - 158 to 160
What a hell of a week!More than half of my team at work reported in sick on top of the people already on vacation we were down 80% in headcount. I barely had any time during the day to create any images. Also the images took ages to render. I hope Nvidia publishes their new phase of graphics cards soon and they are not too expensive... Hope dies last, right?I only added the lettering for these few pages this morning in a rush, so I hope it's not too bad, but if you spot any egregious mistakes please let me know.
Changing Perspective - Pages 152 to 157
Over the summer I spent most of my free time on rendering images for the comic. Currently I'm mostly rendering only during work hours and use my free time for other things. While I would like to spend more time on creating comics I fear I'll burn out so this week it's only 6 pages. I have a few fun encounters already mapped out in my head for the next pages. Things are going to move... probably.
Changing Perspective - Pages 145 to 151
Now my last travelling days for the next few weeks are over I have discovered the game Throne and Liberty, which I quite like. That didn't stop me from creating more pages, but for whatever reason the last page took me almost 3 days to make. It's either some setup with the scene or I have to restart my PC more often to reset the RAM... I hope this issue doesn't persist with all the following pages of the current scene.I also get close to the limits of Powerpoint, the software I'm currently using to create the comic. The Powerpoin...
Changing Perspective - Pages 136 to 144
Still travelling for work during the week. Fortunately some of the beach image renders went by quite quick. I hope I can deliver as many pages next Saturday, but we'll see how it goes with work and travel.
Changing Perspective - Pages 127 to 135
Over the next weeks I have to travel for work. I might not be able to find the time to create as many pages as usual for next Saturday (and possible the Saturday after). I hope you understand.
Changing Perspective - Pages 114 to 126
Wooot! 13 pages! What's going on? To be honest I cheated a bit. I had pages 114 to 116 more or less already shaped up last Saturday, but wasn't satisfied with them yet, so they made it into this week.Btw: If you read my other comics, you might recognize one or two persons in the pages this week. I hope this gives you a bit of an idea how "Changing Perspective" fits into the overarching world of (so far most) of my comics.
Changing Perspective - Pages 106 to 113
It wasn't the most productive week unfortunately, but I'm slowly getting somewhere. I hope you like the story so far.
Changing Perspective - Pages 95 to 105
I fear I went overboard with this sequence (and probably quite a few pages next week as well).
Changing Perspective - Pages 86 to 94
For page 88 I would have loved to make it an animated page, but I couldn't really get it to work the way I wanted. So here it is as a JPG and I also attached the animation for the top right frame of the page. I hope you like it.By the way: While this is nowhere finished, I'm already thinking about what comes next. What do you think about a continuation of the Patreon exclusive "Weekend!" (see here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/weekend-short-tf-91753927)?
Changing Perspective - Pages 78 to 85
Not a bad week. Btw. welcome to all the new patrons. Thank you for supporting me. I'm open to feedback. Please don't hesitate to comment and let me know what you think.
Changing Perspective - Pages 70 to 77
Every time I achieve to create 1 or more pages per day I'm happy with what I achieved.I am, however, unsure, if page 71 had to be a panorama shot. It was supposed to be displaying all the contenders but maybe I could have achieved that with several images...Edit: Sorry, I noticed that there were 4 speech bubbles missing on page 76. This is now corrected.
Changing Perspective - Pages 1 to 69
Due to feedback (see here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/changing-change-109179917)I updated page 6 of the comic. Here are now all created pages in one post.I'm happy about the progress I've achieved this week (10 new pages). I hope I can create as many pages next week. We'll see.
Changing Perspective - Change to page 6
I have updated page 6 based on feedback from DeviantArt (https://www.deviantart.com/lylaleluu/art/Changing-Perspective-by-lylaleluu-21-1079776943).I added an explanation on the effect duration of X-Change Pink pills. On Saturday, for the weekly update, I post all pages I created this week and also a PDF file with the change and all pages created so far.
Changing Perspective - Pages 54 to 59
I originally wanted to get a few more pages done before publishing, but considering the answers on my survey (https://www.patreon.com/posts/what-frequency-108858936)so far very heavily hint on you wanting a post once per week, I decided to just go ahead considering that the last pages were published 8 day ago.
What frequency of content updates do you prefer?
I assume the simple answer to this question is: "As much as possible as soon as possible".However: When I started out over a year ago with making visual stories, I did that with the aspiration of at least a page a day. In the beginning, with 10 to 11 hour days in between, I was able to keep up with my own aspiration, but sooner than I wanted I couldn't keep up and burned out a bit. Even then, if I would be able to keep up with that (and on most days I'm not), the question would be how you, my readers, would prefer to get your co...
Quick update on my progress
I was busy over the weekend and my progress was slow early in the week. I hope I can provide a few more pages on Saturday or Sunday.
Changing Perspective - Pages 49 to 53
A few more pages done. I'm getting in the thick of it in this scene and it's noticeable: Page 52 took me 2 days to make. Lesson learned for the future: GPU Memory as high as possible if I ever get a new graphics card.I might have figure out a way to speed up the process on page 53, though that might require some camera angles that I don't like.If you have time for some feedback you could answer me this: Does it look like there are a lot of people in the pictures?
Changing Perspective - Pages 43 to 48
The event hasn't started yet - at least for most of the guests? What's going on?
Changing Perspective - Pages 35 to 42
It might take me a bit longer for the next pages. That is not because I have less time available. It is because I'm envisioning a larger scene set with several characters. The more detail, the more characters are in a scene, the longer it takes to render. On one hand I'm really looking forward trying to figure out ways to streamline larger scenes and finding opportunities to reduce the complexity of a scene without losing details/characters.On the other hand I like to get things done. We'll see how it goes.
Changing Perspective - Pages 30 to 34
It was quite busy for me the last few days so I had barely time for more pages.
Changing Perspective - Pages 26 to 29
I know it's not a lot but at least it's a few pages.
Changing Perspective - Pages 18 to 25
I got a few more pages done. I hope you like it.
Changing Perspective - Pages 12 to 17
I've got a couple more pages done. I hope you like where this is going.
Changing Perspective - First pages
I'm not dead. :PThank you for your support. Recently I had some time again to express my creativity.I hope you like the first pages of this new comic. Please don't hesitate to comment if you have any feedback.Unfortunately due to my demanding work situation I can't promise when I can publish the next part of this comic, but I'm highly motivated to continue this as soon as I can.
Recommend to cancel
Hello everybody!First of all I want to say I'm eternally grateful for the support you've shown me.That said I have to ask you all to cancel your paid memberships for now. It wouldn't be fair to you to continue to support me financially while I don't have the time and energy currently to continue this project regularly. While over the last year my work left me with quite some time on my hands to work on the renders/stories I published, this has changed in December and the opposite is now the case: swamped with work, regularly doin...
Better Body - Pages 29 to 35
Lately I'm slow with my updates.Over the past months I have done my work on comic pages (concept -> rendering -> lettering) alongside my day job (that brings food on table). I was fortunate that my day job allowed that, but this past month that has changed. I'm even so busy with work, that I'm too exhausted to focus on anything creative after work.I'm expecting this situation to change around December, but then Christmas etc. is right around the corner and I'm not sure yet how that is going to affect me.In light of the situa...
Better Body - Pages 22 to 28
I had my first case of writer's block. Felt totally weird. I knew where the story was going and what I wanted to do next, I just couldn't find the words for the speech bubbles.I hope this is now over for good and I can get back to regular work and more updates. However this weekend I'm busy with family stuff, so you'll probably have to wait until late next week for the next pages.By the way that's also the reason why "Holy Nights" doesn't have any speech bubbles. It was supposed to when I started out, but writer&#...
Holy Nights! - A quick short one for Halloween
This is not up to my usual quality standards. I got this event/story/comic from a suggestion over at DeviantArt and thought "Let's just try it out".As I was already in the "tryout" mode I thought I'll follow other feedback as well (see here https://www.deviantart.com/lylaleluu/art/Promotion-148-989504642 comments from prithvrai25) and see how mobile friendly this is.I would really appreciate your feedback. Do you like the "one picture per page" or the traditional comic style (multi-picture page) more?
Weekend - A short TF TG comic - All pages
