pikaole post [ wip ] Ghost Jellyfish from patreon

Did you know there's actually a jellyfish called a ghost jellyfish(Cyanea nozaki)?I didn't draw a particular species this time, but It helped me to think about the atmosphere.I usually prefer red or blue lights. But I only used green! To emphasize the spookiness and mystery this time.WIP gifI've drawn jellyfish many times, but I feel it's hard every time I draw. It's a challenge to place so many of their tentacles in a beautiful way.I fixed it many times in sketch stage. But It's always fun to drawing tentacles and I feel th...

[ wip ] Rainbow shark meets blue shark

I drew this a long time ago.I found it in the folder from 2010 to 2013.I've tried different illust with the same theme.Blue shark and Rainbow shark. Both named 'shark' but rainbow shark lives in fresh water and they are not even shark.Rainbow shark's size is 6inch(15cm) long.Blue sharks are much bigger and longer, but if I draw rainbow shark too small, they can't be seen, so let's think of them as very bulky fish and still young sharks!WIP gifI changed the shark's mouth. A smiling face is always nice. The freshwater tank...

Sweat13.I think it's a bit cruel, so I changed it like this. Can use it to get out of chatroom quickly.14. Shock15. Wow16. Dance17.I made this one a year ago, so the cha...

[ wip ] Spooky eels

WIP gif1. illustI was going to make it into a GIF from the beginning. So I painted it simple.2. Eel animating8 frame animation (used 'puppet tool' on Adobe)As you know, I've done lots of Eels animation with puppet tool. It's hard to feel, but the stars and pumpkins in the back are shining, too. They're not the main effect, so I trying to keep it out of sight. But these small details make it more complete, so I did it.And I added a simple line animation. (witch's magic, knife)Twitter's gif and Instagram used square frames...

[ idea sketch ] Jelly Polychaete worm

* Aug summary <- I'm giving away free onepiece stickers. If you've missed it, comment here!* Idea sketch (May 2018)Do you remember when I tried to draw ice cream with a Christmas tree worm?I've been trying to complete it a few times since then, but... [ WIP ] Bumblebee and fish

* drawingsColor thumbWIP gifI was going to use bright blue as point color (the eyes of a fish). After all, I decided not to use it to give a sense of unity in the picture atmosphere.I wanted to express that they are all different but also have many similarities. Bumblebee goby / catfish / platy / cichlid Red-tailed Bumblebee / Tree Bumblebee / White-tailed BumblebeeCompared to the honeybee I painted before, I tried to emphasize the softness & chubby of the bumblebee. Thanks!

[ Drawing ] Bumble bee and fish

* Other sketch (Panda & fish) (2018, JUN)* honey bee sketch (2018 DEC)Bumble bees and bumblebee freshwater fish! They are all the same color as their names, so it would be nice to complete them together.(I'm going to draw more chubby than honeybees.)WIP GIFFish are all small in size, Mostly 3 to 5cm..Bumblebee cichlid is the largest size among them, about 9cm.Because the bumble bee is smaller (about 1~1.5cm),I was thinking about drawing them in real size at first. But If i do, we can not see the bees well, so maybe I'm just going to draw ...

Making of 'The tiny things' 2

*I'm taking a short break from today! If you send me a message or comment, I'll write you all back after August 30th!It's the second WIP of my picture book about fish poop and bacteria.Making of 'the tiny things' 1 (first dummy book & second, third digital conti)The big problem with this picture book was that it has no sense of unity between pages because I tries to make many different attempts...So when all the pages were finished, I was frustrated. But in retrospect, I think the painting has improved because of this. 😄WI...

[ Drawing ] Glass squid & tortoise, cowfish

In the last color thumbnail,I drew a glass catfish and a glass squid together. But I don't think I'll draw it together in the end. (instead it could be series..)It's little awkward to paint freshwater fish and marine life in the same place🤔Thanks!
