Kat is one of our newest life models but has been an important part of the Draw community for several years, first coming to draw at our in-person sessions and then becoming a regular face at our online portrait club and life drawing sessions during the first lockdowns. Summer 2022 Teaser
We were back in the Brighton Studio with Olly Hearsey this week shooting our new life, portrait and clothed photo-sets! In response to feedback we lit these slightly differently to recent sets, darkened the backgrounds and exploring a greater variety of angles on poses. We also quadrupled the photos in our sculpture poses to give a wider range of options for everybody who uses the rotations. Life Photo-Set: Adrian
As any regular attendees at our online sessions will know, Adrian is an incredibly versatile and creative model. When we held our photoshoot for this set he belted out some many excellent poses in such a short amount of time that we ended up getting a bonus 20 minute tea break - always welcome in our intense shooting days! Drawing Circus Photo-Set: Paddock Studios
Back in the summer of 2017 the Drawing Circus was touring far and wide and on our return to Sussex we stopped off at the nearby Paddock Studio in Lewes. For anybody who doesn't know the well-to-do areas of the rural South East of England, the Lewesians have a subversive streak, with a history rebellious political traditions and a penchant for effigy burning. When he's modelling at the Draw studio Mat often arrives with a sports bags of props, from baseballs to plastic lightsabers. Life Photo-set: Inês
Inês embodies creativity. When she modelled for her first online life class she sent me a text before hand to ask 'Can I wear some make up for the session?'. 'Sure thing!' I replied. She arrived painted head-to-toe in blue and gold body paint, with red eye shadow and 100 fake eyes stuck to her back.
