Chapter 4 - Bibi Log #15
Hello, So, welcome to a new Bibi Log.As the name suggests, it's a Bibi (Baby) log and it will be pretty small and to the point.I'm currently 600/2250 images into Postwork. But I must also admit that I wasn't focused on Postwork yet... As I'm currently handling the end cinematic. And the End cinematic is quite heavy on the Vram. And Lightroom is some sort of Drama Queen that tends to slurp up as much Vram as it can.So I can't really do postwork while rendering without risking a CPU fallback in Daz. (When the Vram runs out and it...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #14
Hello, So, I've got quite a few topics today.1. Music2. Still renders & Postwork3. Left to do3.1. Gallery update4. Previews1. MusicShall we begin with a topic I never expected to become such a pain in the ass.As all of you know, I've got some trouble with the music. A few days ago a fellow developer got a DMCA claim from ArtList, which resulted in his game being temporarily taken down from Steam. This pretty much seals it that I will not get in business with ArtList. (The ones with the 10k$ minimum price.)I'm still waiting for a repl...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #13
Hello,As always, 4k Res attached. So, I'm around 2150 renders in... and pretty much almost done with the Tabletop session ~ 250 lines. I started and finished one of the cinematics last week and also canceled one that I had planned in the TBT session (~30sec) Same reason why I canceled a cinematic back in Chapter 3.5. As soon as too many characters are in the scene, it has to load in the materials, etc. for every single frame.Under these circumstances, even a simple test render takes 3-4h. And it was a very complex cinematic. This would'v...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #12
Hello, 4k Res of all previews is attached.Remember when I said the render count was 1700 and I needed around 100 more renders for the normal timeline? That was a good one.I'm now done with the normal timeline and we're above 2000 renders. By my new estimation, the update will finish with 2400+ renders. I remember when I started doing half Chapters in order to release smaller updates...Seriously... What am I doing? (Also keep in mind I've made over 700 still renders for WiAB, too.)Today, I'm going to talk about quite a few things....
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #11
Hello, 4k Res of all preview attached. So, the current still render count is above 1700 now and I assume I'll need around 100 renders more for the normal timeline. So yeah, this will be a 2200+ Still image update. In comparison, Chapter 3.5 had 1400 still render and much fewer Animation frames.Even the big update Chapter 3 "only" had 1800 stills.1. Wacom goal added.I made a change to the next goal on Patreon. (1000 Subscriber goal).I added the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 Graphic Tablet to it.Currently, I'm using the Wacom Intus Pro M to do...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #10
*Edit: Added High res of all images attached for download.Hello,Sorry for the slight delay of this Dev Log but I had to spontaneously fly across the country and had to take care of some personal concerns. (4 days trip)Took me a day to fully regulate my dopamine and stress levels.1. Tabletop cut2. Current state3. Improvements.1. Tabletop cutWell, so... There's something I will address today regarding the tabletop session.I will be cutting it in half... Let me explain why.So, at the moment I'm around 800 lines into the Tabletop session. F...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #9
Hello,Welcome to the 9th Dev Log.Progress on Chapter 4 has been good. I'm currently also writing a lot more again (Future chapters and changing/Polishing other chapters.)As mentioned in the last log, today I will give a little more insight on how much is left.I'm currently 1300 still renders in and I'm around 200 to 300 renders away from finishing the "normal" part of the update. The one that isn't in the Tabletop session. So the normal part of the update (excluded cinematics) is pretty much 85% done. The Tabletop part is ...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #8
Hello, Today, It's gonna be a rather short Dev Log. Good progress has been made in the last couple of days. I had some small natural lows here and there but that's just because of the lack of real-life social interactions.Germany's increasing its regulations over the past few weeks. I now also count as not vaccinated again. And while Germany already had the highest energy prices in the world. They now got increased again (With 2022).I now have to pay 325€ a month. Which is around 365$. Just insane. But thanks to you supporters it...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #7
Hello,Time's flying. So, welcome to the 7th Dev Log of Chapter 4.In the last Log, I mentioned I started working on a big limiter in my productivity and oh boy, it's already paying off big time but I need to make sure to burn this habit into my brain.Next month I will give some actual numbers to demonstrate the improvement. I will not mention the exact "limiter" because it's personal.Anyways, big steps are being made and I also acquired something new that will increase the quality of certain types of animations a lot. (And als...
Chapter 4 - Bi - Weekly Dev Log #6
Hello, So... first Dev Log of 2022.Another part of Chapter 4 is finished and I'm now at the biggest part in the update. (TBT is much bigger in terms of workload.)But it is a part I'm really looking forward to.I've already created all the environments except for two.For spoiler reasons, I currently can't preview any new TBT renders and the "normal" renders will follow soon. The part I'm doing now is something I want to keep a secret. At least how the people look, etc.I will be able to preview things but I'll be hea...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #5
Hello,Welcome to the last Dev Log for this year. There isn't really much to say, I've been trying out some new Lighting techniques and also figured out how to make volumetrics not look like absolute garbage in animations.I finished the second out of four total Tabletop (TBT) cinematics. There's also going to be two/three more normal cinematics.Sadly, my Animation PC was completely useless most of the time because the scenes did exceed 11GB of Vram.I'll see if I can get another 3090 in the new year.At the moment, I've been doi...
Chapter 4 - Dev Log #4
Hello,So, WiAB is fully released now and also cross-released to this Patreon here. If you missed it, you can find the post HEREWorking on WiAB's gallery gave me some very nice ideas for the SG gallery. The reason why SG's gallery doesn't look as fancy is that when I created it, I had to include 20+ girls in every single gallery. This killed my motivation to go above and beyond with the design.I will slowly but surely keep changing the design. I just don't want to do it all at once.I also spent quite a bit of time finishing some op...
Chapter 4 - Bibi log
Hello, So, been a while since I last did an SG log. WiAB has just been released into the Beta state and with its final release it will also release for the 10$ and above here on this Patreon.Today is just a bibi log, you'll get another bigger Dev Log before the month ends but I just wanted to give a life sign.I don't think I've mentioned it here yet, but I got infected by shingles around two weeks ago.I was in a pretty bad state back then, I couldn't sleep and it felt like I had a dagger with a chain lighting effect in my back.D...
Chapter 4 - Dev log #3
Hello, Last Dev log I told you guys about the Workstation I ordered. I managed to build it and everything went well.I still lost around 3 days of developing due to all the setups I had to do, and boy... was this a headache.I had connected all my PCs through my home network. This way, I have access to all assets from both games.I tried everything to establish the connection but I still couldn't get it to work.At the moment, PC 1 can't access PC2 and PC3 but they can access PC1. PC2 and PC3 also can't access each other.I spent easily ...
Chapter 4 - Dev log #2 - Workstation
Hello, First of all... I'm so sorry, I fucked up my calendar. I actually thought I had to do the Bi-weekly Log on Thursday. I made a mistake when I modified my Dev-Log appointments and I didn't realize it until someone mentioned it to me. Sorry for that! Current status Chapter 4 short: - 520 renders- One cinematic done. Long version: We're currently still in the Tabletop session and we will probably stay there for the next 2-3 Dev logs.Normally, I work with environments that are pre-built. I then customize them in order to give them...
Chapter 4: Dev Log #1
Hello, So, last week's poll resulted in a clear winner. Bi-weekly Dev logs, which I think is a nice middle ground. Today, the new schedule starts. In the last bibi log, I spoke a little about the tabletop session. And oh boy is that thing evolving. When I first wrote it a few years ago, it was very simple and just "fun." Chapter 4 is going to elevate the game to a new level of cinematography. The tabletop session is the perfect opportunity to do some "Trial and Error". I've got a lot on my plate, be it Zbrush, Blender, P...
Chapter 4 - Bibi-log & Tabletop
Hello, As mentioned before, the first parts of Chapter 4 can't be previewed for spoiler reasons. But good news, these parts are done.I'll spoiler now that MC will not die in the locker room and actually make it to the Tabletop session. I'm currently around 270 still renders in. (+ a few animations.)So... First of all, I've got to make something clear. In the past, I referred to the tabletop session as DND. Which implies a medieval setting. For the first tabletop session, I didn't go for medieval. (Next one might be.)A friend m...
Chapter 4 info & Goal reached
Hello,So, Chapter 3.5 has been released fully. (Now available for the Summer tier, too. (5$).(You can find it HERE.)This means Chapter 4 is on the horizon and has entered development two days ago.Chapter 4 is around 20% to 30% bigger than Chapter 3.5.This means we will probably head near the 2000 total render range again. It'll also have four relatively big cinematics. Two of the main events are the DND (Board game session) and we'll have dinner at Nick's place, revealing his two daughters.Nami also has a special focus this update. (W...
Chapter 3.5 Postlog & Final info.
Hello, It's been almost two weeks since the Chapter 3.5 Beta was released and I want to thank everyone who kept and started supporting me! You guys are the reason this game can expand more and more! I can't thank you enough! The final version is as good as done and will be released in the next few days. With Chapter 3, I did rework the Intro with Summer and a small part with Summer in the class. The final version of Chapter 3.5 includes part 2 of the Chapter 1 rework. The plan is to do a steam release with Chapter 4.5 or Chapter 5 and un...
Chapter 3.5 - Explaining the new features and a few words.
Hello, In a few hours, the update will go live. Let me use this time to explain the new features and say some words about the update. I will also do a recap in the following weeks and just write a little about the development of Chapter 3.5 and what highs and lows there were.1. What to expect.I don't want anyone to go into this update with the wrong expectations. "Blueball police Nami" is not there anymore... Because she got promoted and is now an Agent with a partner. This of course means that there is still no sex in the game. If ...
Chapter 3.5 - Release date
Hello, I guess it is time to give a release date. The release will be on the 30th of July. Which is tomorrow. As always, the Chapter will be released as a Beta. Expect some little bugs due to the new features (Music player, Gallery, etc.)I will make another post today. Explaining some of the new features.
Final rendering has finished.
Hello, So... After a while, I managed to get that nightmare of a scene under control and did finish it. This is just a quick update letting you guys know that the rendering has finished for Chapter 3.5. We are looking at:~ 1400 still renders. ~ 6000 - 7000 animation frames. (I didn't bother counting them all this time.) Which took me around 4 months and 2 weeks. (The last scene alone took me 1 1/2 months lol.)I did take a break after the crunch disaster of Chapter 3.This is the first half chapter update- which turned out a little bit bigger...
A little more patience - The last scene for Chapter 3.5.
Hello,So, the month is almost over and I haven't released yet.And I have to ask for a little more patience.I also want to give a little insight into what is giving me a not so little headache.I have been working on the last scene for about three weeks now. The last scene is a sport-scene, which means a lot of people in one big environment. So, it was always planned to have this scene on an outside college sports center. I did build an entire environment- houses, a soccer field, a football field + a lot of basketball places. But mid-way buildi...
Update on the Blender short stories.
Hello,As I am sure some of you noticed I recently added a Blender comic to some of the tier rewards.I am doing them to learn Blender on the side while also providing my supporters with additional content. More details in a future post.In the past day, I managed to improve Bella's model to a minimally acceptable level to start the comic/short stories. With both games coming closer to a release, I didn't have enough time for Blender as I'd like to but I did manage to make improvements to the Bella model. This includes the skin, teeth, m...
Chapter 3.5 - Dev Log #3
Hello, General Benefits of the 3090 Public Previews1. GeneralThe update is going along fine, it could be better but Covid is finally taking its toll on me. Due to the gym being closed for almost 6-7 months now, I found myself in a really shitty Work/Life balance.I pretty much do the minimum amount of sport (Running/Yoga) to stay somewhat sane but I pretty much spend the rest of the day working on the games. The hours just fly by and before I realize it, another week has gone by and my mental health state declines. No worries, I will not get depr...
Chapter 3.5 - Dev log #2
Hello,Welcome to the second Dev log of Chapter 3.5.The last two weeks were a little bit more stressful due to me moving across the country but besides that, the development is going great. I am reaching my daily goals almost every day.In the last two weeks, I found myself experimenting a lot again and I noticed some very interesting things in Daz and outside of Daz.A side goal of mine is to improve with every update and I can already state that I have improved again. So this goal is already reached and I am happy about it.To be honest, every ti...
Chapter 3.5 - Dev log #1 & poll results
Hello. With this short Dev Log, Chapter 3.5 officially enters development. (It has been in development for two weeks now.)Today you are going to see the first previews of the upcoming update and I am also going to talk a little about this half-chapter and what you can expect out of it. This is also the last time I will publish all previews for all tiers. Since this page got created, most previews were supposed to be for the 5$ and above tier but it never got honored. In the future, the previews will be in a separate post except for one or two p...
Chapter 3 - Final version
Hello,1. General2. Gallery3. New small route.4. Links and changelog1. GeneralThe full version of Chapter 3 is here and it is almost sad that I feel like this, but I am so glad this Chapter is now behind me and I can move on to the next update. You can find the links at the end of this post together with a changelog. We had quite a few problems dealing with the save compatibility and we still don't know if it is going to work for Chapter 3.5.But we are working on alternative methods to secure it.I did port the game from Renpy 7.2.2 to Renpy 7....
Update on the GPU situation.
Ladies and Gentleman, We got him.I managed to find one in stock a week ago and today, it finally arrived. I didn't want to jinx it- but well, it's here. I tested it and till now it works great. Yesterday, I also rendered an image so that I am able to compare the 3090 to the 2080Ti.The render was rendered in 4k with 1200 samples and was 9.7GB in Vram.Daz 4.12 - 2080Ti: 49:02 minDaz 4.14 - 2080Ti: 46:01 minDaz 4.14 - 3090: 15:32 minIt renders 3x as fast. (At least in that one specific render) Very happy with that upgrade.I will go for a s...
Dev log #8 November
Hello,So, I know that I said the game will release this month even without the 2nd PC but I didn't' take Daz's unbelievably long "opening" times into account. For example, I have scenes that have 7 characters in them and it takes 28 minutes (Yes, I timed it) to open it up.28 minutes to open up a save file. Just ridiculous."Can't you open it just once and render from there?"The way I work is like this: I create scenes over the day and render them through the night with a "Batch-renderer." It's like a r...
