Homegrown 0.1.6 Download - Inventory Update

Unzip then run the relevant jar file to launch the game. You’ll need to have Java installed on your computer for it to work.
Inventory Update
One of the most frequent pieces of of feedback that I've received about the game so far is that having to open the inventory every time you want to switch tools is a bit of a pain. So for the last few weeks I've been busy redesigning the inventory system in order to make it less frustrating to use.
The inventory is now located at the bottom of the screen as a bar containing 12 item slots. It's now always showing, meaning that you can easily switch tools with a single click, and don't have to open up a new UI panel each time.
12 slots is however obviously not enough space to keep all your items, so there's extra storage available in the house. Just click on the house at any time to access your storage, and you can then move items between your inventory and your house.
In future iterations of this feature I plan to add more options for organizing your inventory and storage (e.g. dragging items around to reorder them) plus I'll split the storage panel into multiple sections for different categories of items (one for tools, one for produce, one for seeds, etc.) I'm also considering having limited storage space for each of these item categories, which you can then expand by purchasing certain add-ons for your house (buying a shed would give you more storage space for tools, industrial fridge for more space to store produce, etc. etc.) But I'll have to see if that makes sense gameplay-wise first.
Other small improvements in this version include being able to click on an equipped item to un-equip it, and pressing esc now closes any currently open UI panels. If no UI panels are open then pressing esc un-equips all currently equipped items, putting you in select mode where you can click on objects in the world to see more info about them.
Finally, I'm really sorry for the lack of videos recently. I've had a bit of a health issue that I'm working through; I'm going in for some tests next week so maybe I'll talk about it more when those results have come through. Plus the inventory update just hasn't really provided much interesting devlog content. However, I'm moving on to the next topic tomorrow and I'll start filming for the next devlog which I hope to get out by next weekend :)
