The Porsche 986 is the internal designation for the first generation Boxster, a mid-engine two-seater roadster built by German automobile manufacturer Porsche. Introduced in late 1996, the Boxster, based on the 1993 Boxster Concept, was Porsche's first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder. Powered by a 2.5-litre flat six-cylinder engine, the base model was upgraded to a 2.7-litre engine in the year 2000 and a new Boxster S variant was introduced with a 3.2-litre engine. In 2003, styling and engine output was upgraded on both variants.
The Boxster's name is derived from the word "boxer", referring to the vehicle's flat or "boxer" engine, and the word "roadster", referring to the vehicle's two-seater capacity and convertible top. The Boxster was released ahead of the more expensive 911 (internal designation 996) and has the same bonnet, front wings, headlights, interior and engine architecture as that model.

Also HOTFIX for Porsche 996 GT3 Gen1 by 101Creative download here. (original 996 mod had issue with collider and unrealistic data. Now data is according real car and feels good) But visually it's perfectly flowered by the modder!

Same as Jon I'm stoked to have my IRL car here except I have the 2.7 base. Any chance you'll be making a 5sp 2.7 base model in the future? I'd be happy with just detuning the 3.2 and adjusting the gears for 5spd! Either way, thank you! Also, do I have to stay subbed as a patreon to enjoy the car or did I "purchase" it for the $3? best

This is awesome having someone convert one of my IRL cars. There's a couple nits to pick though that I'm hoping you address in a future update: - The interior dash lights are more of a orange/brown instead of white, same color as the HVAC controls. Example, when the lights are on they're orange/brown, but white when lights are off. - The font on the gauges are also more italic - The factory side skirts don't have brake cooling ducts. They're flat, but I believe one of the prototypes might have had these. I'm happy to take pictures of anything on my car if you decide to make further updates. Regardless, the current version is fantastic and I'm so happy to have the car that's been my baby for over 22 years finally in Assetto Corsa! Oh and making a convertible/retractable soft top would be nice, but that might be pushing it! :)
