[MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!] BOOK 1 launching on Amazon on Nov. 12th!

I hope you’re all having a great weekend – I’ve got some exciting news today!
The Lone Wanderer is officially launching on Amazon (Kindle Unlimited + Audible) on November 12th!
I’ve partnered with Mountaindale Press, which means that the series is getting the full professional treatment: several rounds of editing, formatting, the awesome cover art by Sergio Chaves that you’ve already seen, and narration by the amazing Austin Rising (who’s done an incredible job bringing the story to life in a whole new way)!
Because Kindle Unlimited requires exclusivity, Book 1 (Ch. 1-116) will be removed from elsewhere on November 11th (that includes Royal Road, Scribble Hub and Patreon), so please make sure you’ve read up to that point before then.
Book 2+ will remain here for a while longer, and I’ll always notify you well in advance before any part of the story gets taken down, but it’s not a bad idea to check for announcements at least once every couple of months if you’re not already staying up to date with the most recent chapters.
I know that stubbing isn’t ideal, but writing TLW is now my full-time job, and this move helps the series reach the widest possible audience while supporting its continued growth.
This is basically how we can continue getting amazing covers, polished books and expertly narrated audiobooks for the rest of the series, which I’m super excited about – because it’s going to be a loooooooong one!
The Amazon release is the same story you know, just polished and refined. If you’d like to reread – to freshen up on any fuzzy details that you might have forgotten, or want to experience it in a new way, or you want to support me at this crucial time in my career (wink wink xD), please consider reading the definitive version on Amazon when it’s out.

P.S. I polled free patrons a few days ago asking them whether they would prefer that I move the free Patreon chapters (2 ahead of Royal Road) back to Royal Road, and people were overwhelmingly in favour of that.
I’m not going to make the change immediately because I’m busy with other things right now, and I’ve also got more Patreon changes planned (getting rid of the duplicate chapters, grouping everything into collections for easier navigation), but keep in mind that I’ll be looking toward doing this in November.
Again, this is ONLY for the FREE Patreon chapters – the paid Patreon chapters will stay here. I’m doing this to stop splintering the comment sections and discord channels into too many places. It sucks that free patrons can’t discuss the story with people on Royal Road just due to being 2 chapters apart.

Yes, ambient mana is a mix of low grade mana of every affinity, with a slight bias toward certain types depending on location. Conversion is very poor, though it can increase slightly depending on if the ambient mana is more compatible with the mage’s affinity (i.e. water affinity at the sea) or the person’s skill. Even though the ambient mana is thin and low grade, higher grade cores exert a much greater pull, drawing it from farther away. Even demigods can regenerate mana just fine in places we’ve seen so far, but maybe they could run into some trouble in a place with much less ambient mana than Remior.

Hmm... If you don't mind me asking another question, how does ambient mana and normal mana regeneration work? A mage breathes in air, passes the ambient mana in that air to their core, and converts it into their own mana. Is that ambient mana made up of a random mix of affinities, with the composition based on location? What is the grade of ambient mana? How efficient is the conversion process? How does all of this change when a mage advances grades? A mage's mana capacity never increases, but their mana contains three times as much energy as it did in the grade before. Doesn't that mean the mage needs to suck in three times as much ambient mana to fill their core? Does increasing in grade allow a mage to pull in more ambient mana, or maybe it makes the process more efficient? What is the limit on all this? Do whites or demigods have diminishing returns, because they reach the point where they are already converting as much ambient mana as there is available, so advancing doesn't improve their regen, because there just isn't any more mana available for them? Thank you for any answers you can give.
