When I was there Nov 2019 we went around much of southern Germany and I think the only place we hit anything approaching bad road conditions was on the 7 going to Rothenburg ob der Tauber from the south. Inside of cities was another story entirely, but that was more akin to what most highways are like in the central US.

Wow, I totally bought into that the Autobahn was absolutely perfect for driving. That is quite the roomer you Germans have going there. What? construction? nothing to see here :-)

BTW, the Autobahn there looks smooth as glass compared to some of the highways in the US which appear to have been subject to a bombing campaign.

Nice purchase! That turbomolecular pump looks soooo cute! Would you mind revealing how much you paid for all that? I have yet to buy a roughing pump and a bell jar for my vacuum chamber setup, which is just as well, since I'm moving *again*.

haven't really powered anything just yet, but the inrush current spike of such a huge transformer (if not intentionally limited) would certainly be measurable a few blocks away :)
