And now that you opened it are you going to remake the burned windings and upgrade bearinngs to roller bearings? :) . There is a youtouber called mr electricity that often makes these kind of stuff.

I saw the words "spindle" and "teardown" and thoguht you took apart the fancy one that youbought.. alas, then I saw "China"....sigh. On the uphand. In the background, I spy with my eye something begining with Advantest perhaps? Can't make out the make or what it might be.. hope you can share soon enough :D

there are air-cooled units as well, but liquid is theoretically nicer for all the reasons it's used in PCs as well

Guilty. I ran it without coolant for a few seconds yesterday, not expecting it to get that hot that quickly
