Before it got rudely disassembled, did you try capturing an image to SD card? I'm wondering what resolution it saved the thermal image at - probably scaled based on how blurred it was.

Was wondering how 60x60 pixels could be read by only 2400 clock pulses, but I gather from other comments that it is only using 60x40. I wonder what resolution the 220x160 model actually reads... :)

Yes, I think that would be possible. It uses a 'GigaDevice GD32F4' which might be STM32F4 compatible ( <a href="http://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?t=1352" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?t=1352</a> ) and programming headers are nicely labelled. would it be an options to write new firmware for the thermal cam? Wich microprocessor / controller does it use?

The python / opencv code for object tracking was supplied by the robot kit manufacturer, I just used another data source basically

Clearly the star of the show today is that gorgeous new scope. That thing looks like the cats meow! Also the fact you just whipped up a crude but functional heat tracking bot is terrifying..
