Ah I still have a few of those 200A IGBT modules, those can probably dissipate a kW in heat ...

That would be a neat, professional solution, but since the build platform already is a thermally conductive al plate I thought I could do it simpler with a 5 min mosfet circuit ...

I really like this idea. If you're gonna hack something together, might as well make it a art piece while you're at it.

LOL extra crispy! It'll never work if the smoke gets out. Maybe try a big LED array on the underside and use the platform as the heatsink... would look cool too! If it isn't so big it needs an A/C unit to cool it's not big enough.

Tried that for a ovenized circuit, didn't work well. So I got a bunch of 2512 SMD resistors (84 in total) to get the heat spread evenly. That worked. The temperature was only 50°C though.
