I think the "official" raspi camera is used often, because its well supported in the kernel, and very light and thus easily fixed to the print bed.

I use Octopi on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B to control my CR-10 and use it to create the timelapse. Not HD though because my old Logitech Webcam can do HD but the Linux driver for it cannot. I found Octopi on the Raspberry Pi Zero W to be unreliable.
