You can imagine that the reason the face of Boe’s death upsets him so much is because after losing Rose and now him, he’s realizing how alone he really is in the universe. This unfortunately means Martha came in at like the worst possible time. This isn’t the doctor from seasons 1 & 2. This one is even more broken and depressed and in a way is using Martha so he has someone to talk to and show things too. I’m so happy the Doctor isn’t a perfect character and honestly it sets up a great arc for Martha in the coming episodes.
