OneShot dev notes (map redesign)

I recently found some design notes that I did for the difference in map layout (for the barrens) in the 2014 vs 2016 versions of OneShot (plus some more simplified visual diagrams comparing the two)
The 2014 version of the barrens was quite a large area with two simultaneous item combination puzzles (the battery and the cleaning equipment), which made it confusing for many players. For the full game, we cut the barrens into two sections (using two toxic air zones), which allowed us to streamline the puzzles a lot more.... plus it let me make another song and add some extra visual interest for the second half of the barrens as well, yaaay

It was not easy to find a way in Barrens. It's because at first, the player didn't know where to go among these wide maps. I think it would have been better if it had been described visually when giving hints about the puzzle. The first remote control puzzle and Barrens puzzle were quite confusing. However despite the disadvantages of continuing the story or solving the puzzle, I think it's a good description of Barrens as the name suggests!
