I was 12yo during the summer of love. Later in late fall my family made a trip to San Francisco and my dad and I got lost sight seeing... We could see the street signs while sitting in the car due to the huge number of people on the streets and sidewalks. When ask to look at the street signs at the corner I had to rise up out of the car window and twist around to read them. I said to my dad, "Haight... and Ashbury... st". I remember the 60's and it left a lasting impression on me as far as drug use and hippies. By that time the shine had worn off "The Summer of Love". Great music, sexual freedom, the great debate as to what and who we wanted to be as a generation. Grew up with the war in Vietnam on the news everyday. There's a book that could be written on this topic... oh wait someones already done it! Almost got too serious.

I was not there, but I know the bare feet would drive ME crazy.

You know what they say, if you can remember the 60s then you weren’t there (you don’t, do you?). [a gentleman never asks-Ed.]. Yes, KT, the bare feet, it was really the thing the parents could not stand.
