POIYOMI 8.0 IS OUT AND 8.1 WORK BEGINS!!!

Poiyomi 8.0 is finally ready to replace 7.3. Over the next month, we'll be filling out the documentation, creating examples, creating tutorials, and even streaming.I'll be working on 8.1 in the background starting today. Patrons will get early access to it as they always do. 8.0 is a huge step forward, and 8.1 will bring a lot of fun things for patrons like geometry dissolves, tesselation, fur, wireframe shading, and more!Download it in the discord @ https://discord.gg/poiyomi

7.2 Work Continues

New to the shader this month among other things is audio reactive shading. It only works in worlds with Udon Audio link, which is getting more and more popular by the day. Poiyomi Patch 7.2

As always this is part of the $10 patreon and downloads are available in the discord server.The first patch of 7.2 is out! It's early but it's got some nice new shading options:Pic1: Wrapped lighting mode that lets you get nice soft shading. Pic2: Skin shading mode with subsurface tint to edge of shadow Pic3: Skin shading with darker shadows to show the subsurface edge.The plan for 7.2 is to work on a few new features and bug fixes in preparation for some big new features in 8.0. 7.1.00

The first build for 7.1 just got released in the discord server. 7.1 is going to focus on performance, feature requests (hue shift all the things) and making it easier to switch from UTS2 shader to poiyomi.The images above show UTS on the left and the replicated shade mapped shadows in poiyomi on the right. If you don't notice much of a difference then that means I'm doing a good job!

Haven't Posted Here In A Month

Poiyomi Pro V7.0

Notable Features: 1. Improved in game performance 2. Much much faster upload times 3. WAY WAY smaller avatar sizes for people who had massive avatar shader sizes4. No changes to material settings 5. Easier to work with in Unity 6. Easier for me to implement more of your requests!

Fur Shader Update

The Fur shader has been updated and brought into the pro category. This means that the fur shader will receive all future updates to the shader and is now open to feature requests.Grab it in the $10 patreon pack.

6.1 Tutorials

The focus for the next little bit is to get a tutorial done every day. As I go through each section I'll be fixing bugs and adjusting UI. Anisotropic Specular For Hair

This feature is in a beta state and isn't super easy to use but if you put in some time you can get nice results like this.Available to $10+ patrons at the moment and will eventually be free for everyone.

Poiyomi Pro/Toon 6.0

6.0 is out and with it comes a slew of new and improved features. Check out the full patch notes over at Trello. Toon 6.0 is available for all $5+ patrons and pro is available for all $10+ patrons.

Black Light Masking

Distance based masking for the poiyomi pro shader. Available to all $10+ patrons!

Voronoi Noise

This month's patreon shader is voronoi noise. Available to all $10+ patrons.

Phong Tessellation

Phong Tessellation has been added to the pro shader. This adds extra polygons based on the distance to the camera / Size of the polygon on screen.This is a pro shader only feature available now to all $10+ patrons
