01-22 Life Drawing #2

Nothing fancy with this one, just a quick 30-minute piece, making an effort to keep to a more limited palette.

The Diligent Student - Sketch

The last of the guinea pigs -so to speak- for the upcoming experiment, a bright young mind on the periphery of great events, who knows she can help if she can only grow up fast enough. That post about pelt colour has me thinking a lot about hair on anthros. I might have to figure out how to do one of those multi-part Twitter posts. Or maybe pester Arkay into letting me post a ridiculously niche Youtube video.

Scarlet, the Lady's Companion - Sketch

Another bit of character art that'll serve as a testbed in the future, a noblewoman who's seen proof that the system doesn't always give you what you deserve.

SlateDragon post Ysengrim, The Old Soldier - Sketch from patreon

Ysengrim, The Old Soldier - Sketch

Early concept for an upcoming project, a soldier past his prime, starting to wonder if all that fighting was worth it. This guy's going to be part of a little experiment in style I have planned.

SlateDragon post The Debate from patreon

The Debate

Been a little under the weather the last couple days, but woke up yesterday and it was suddenlyt Very Important that I figure out the answer to this question. I have my own leanings, but I'd be curious to know what y'all think.

Another 45 minute-ish piece.

SlateDragon post Eyelight from patreon

Eyelight

A more delicate piece I was working on wasn't being cooperative this evening, so I swapped over to an idea that would let me be a little rougher!Hope everyone's having a lovely new year!

Extended this one out to an hour to get some more detail in there. The hazards of picking a species with pelt markings.

SlateDragon post For One Purpose from patreon

For One Purpose

A hardworking scientist takes an evening to unwind with the assistance of one of her side projects.Caught myself before going too crazy with the detail on this one, but it's definitely a candidate for taking further sometime down the line.

Mandatory Cuddles: Deep Tissue Massage

The thick muscles in an otter's tail have a tendency to accumulate a lot of tension, but it's not an easy spot to reach on one's own. It's also not something that comes up a whole lot; lifting your tail and demanding attention gets you a lot of funny looks in polite society.Still, if you happen to be beneath an otter's tail for unrelated reasons and find yourself with some time to kill, it's a very good way to earn brownie points.

SlateDragon post Kylie Fashion from patreon

Kylie Fashion

Was going through some of the sketches from earlier this year and I saw I hadn't given Kylie the same treatment as Max! So I gave kylie's fashion experiments the colour pass she deserves!

12-21 Life Drawing #2

Did better at sticking to the 45-minute time limit with this one. Starting to figure out about how long the painting phase takes, and how early to cut off the sketch phase.

Saw these socks online somewhere, knew I had to draw them on a certain otter.

Cultural Exchange #1: Sketch

"Thank you for the present, Rudderbutt, but I'm pretty sure this outfit it supposed to come with pants."I once did some failed sketches for a couple of pics/stories where we learn a little more about husky and otter cultures through the medium of erotic dress-up. Had an idea for a better pose for one of them and wanted to jot it down! So, here's a genuine traditional husky sled-pulling harness, even though some of the other accessories seem to have gone missing...

12/21 Life Drawing #1

This was supposed to be another 45-minute sketch, but something shiny flew past the window and I forgot to pause the timer while I was chasing it. Call it 45-ish? Maybe more like an hour?

It's a natural law of the universe that eventually, any artist doing furry porn will do a sexy Rudolph.Meant to stream this, but the setup took longer than I thought it would. Going to try to finish it in a stream tomorrow instead.

SlateDragon post 11/21 Life Drawing #5 from patreon

11/21 Life Drawing #5

Tried something a little different this time, still with the limited palette but with a hard 45 minute time limit. The result is a little simpler than the others, but the pressure taught me a lot and kept me on task.

SlateDragon post Defenders on the Hunt from patreon

Defenders on the Hunt

Once upon a time, in a land a little too nearby for comfort, there lived a wizard who saw flesh as a gateway to greater power. In his search for dangerous lost knowlege, he seized control of a small town in a lonely corner of the world and bent its resources toward his experiments. The people became his servants, too terrified to resist his power lest they vanish into his lair and never emerge. For decades the plundered wealth of the town funded the wizard's research. He learned to twist the bodies of living creatures, learned to graft them ...

11-21 Life Drawing #4

Practicing limiting myself to a predefined colour palette, and using a brush that forced me to commit early to big blocks of colour. One of those things worked out better than the other.

SlateDragon post Comfort: Tone Sketch from patreon

Comfort: Tone Sketch

Whatever Tally feels for her dragon partner, she knows it isn't love. Love is a thing from those little novels read by fancy ladies on the upper streets, to give them something to do between parties. Love is a thing from the cheap little plays put on in the public garden, to swindle coin from working people who want to believe in something better. Love isn't something that follows you home from a delivery and announces it's going to stay.Still, it's hard to say it hasn't been nice having Blaze around. The apartment is unbeli...

Corgy: The Manchesters and Carlos

No one wanted to say anything at the time, but when the Manchesters asked if they could bring their pool boy around, they were kind of ruining the theme of the whole evening. And really, the pool boy? Everyone knows they filled their pool in years ago. Still, Carlos is a lovely young man, and the Manchesters don't mind sharing.Okay, not this one's a sketch. Need to keep these loose until I can figure out where in the larger picture they go. Come to think of it, should probably start figuring out hte background...

The weasels were already naked to begin with. It's terribly rude of the horse to be wearing clothes.
