Drawing Ari

A few days ago I have drawn @ari_magical_lifeon a court card.I thought I’d share a rough outline of the steps from start to the finished card with you.In my previous post about a court card, I mentioned that I usually start by outlining the face. Instead of tracing the outlines, I often remove everything around them and then begin drawing the clean lines. However, in this case, that first step wasn't necessary at all. I jumped straight into drawing the clean lines. This was partly because the photo quality was excellent and partly because...

BOUQUET Joker

I'm a reserved person, which often makes me come across as conceited. But deep down, I don't take myself too seriously. The Bouquet deck will be the first to feature a Joker that truly represents a traditional Joker. I've always liked to keep my distance from it, because I find most Joker drawings rather bizarre. But I had somehow taken a liking to this drawing.Like the back and Ace of Spades design, the original Joker design is already 125 years old. I spent a few days redrawing a clean version. However, I wasn’t fond of the origi...

BOUQUET Ace of Spades

The Ace of Spades from the BOUQUETdeck showcases a design over 125 years old, which I've carefully redrawn to be cleaner and crisper than it’s ever been.Much loveDaniel

MONOGRAM Queen of Hearts

Beauties, my original plan was to release the Monogram deck in November to shorten the waiting time for the next Kickstarter project. But unfortunately, my stubborn perfectionism got in the way again. As you know, I pay a lot of attention to the details, and I didn't want to sell a half-assed project asap just to sell something. Quality always comes before quantity.I'm still working on the details of the face cards, but even if it was finished now and I put it into print, the higher shipping costs at Christmas would put a crimp in my pl...

Innocence Ace Front View

A few days ago I finished a drawing that I started 5 years ago. I have a great fascination for drawings that have been redrawn from a different angle. You can see from the Muffin deck that I have already implemented this idea in a deck.I've always wanted to draw all the court cards from the other side as well, but someone beat me to it since a deck like that already exists. As I said, I started drawing the Innocence Ace of Spades from the front in 2019. My intention in drawing the woman was to focus on the aesthetics and the art rather than ...

BOUQUET

I'm working on a new deck that I plan to release next year. I discovered this vintage back design from the late 1800s and instantly fell in love with it. So far, I've only managed to find two images of this deck online, making it challenging to recreate everything exactly as it was. However, similar to my approach with the Dondorf deck, I'm aiming for a balanced blend of the original design and creative freedom.Since it's still a while away, I don't want to reveal everything just yet. But, as always, you'll be the first ...

Monogram Tuck Box

Before I came up with the idea for the Monogram deck with gold foil, I showed you some different tuck boxes. However, I didn’t feel that they matched the elegance of the gold foil, so I redesigned the box.

SNAP CHANGE

Beauties, hope you're all doing well. I've been racking my brain for days, thinking about what new details I can add to the court cards to make a new deck even more interesting. It's always a fine line between customization that enhances the design and customization that goes too far, potentially ruining the court card.At the moment, I can't tell if the adjustment I made to the King of Hearts crosses that line. My perspective might be a bit biased because I'm really proud of the idea right now - the King performs a snap chan...

QUEEN OF SPADES

11 years ago I have drawn my own face on the King of Diamonds. Since then, hundreds more cards have followed. Over time, I’ve transformed drawing faces on court cards into my own art form. The traditional court cards provide us with clear guidelines on how to portray them, and I enjoy preserving these classic details in my own designs. One of my friends is now immortalized on the Queen of Spades, and I think it turned out great. Comparing it to the original card, I wanted to highlight just how much attention was given to every fine detail.I al...

MAYHEM & SOLITUDE PLAYING CARDS

After the last Kickstarter project, I took some time to recharge and refocus, which has been incredibly refreshing and inspiring. This month may have had fewer updates on Patreon, but that time allowed me to dive into exciting new projects and ideas that I can't wait to share with you. I'm really looking forward to what's coming next and I'm sure you’ll enjoy it too!In fact, I don't want to wait any longer to share the new Madison x Schneider deck with you - MAYHEM & SOLITUDE. The back design was completed two years ago, b...

Gold Foil Monograms

Give me a 🤸🏽‍♂️ when you're ready for this. I printed a prototype, but MPC messed it up and I didn't want to wait any longer to show it to you.I wanna do a small crowdfunding campaign for this deck on my own website! Depending on how it goes, this could be a very good method for many of my future decks.

MxS

A random seal sticker appears, plus my favorite quote of the week that I want to share with you: 'Stop trying to be liked by everybody. You don't even like everybody.'I've spent the last 3 days finishing this seal sticker. Yes, it's for a new deck but I'm not 100% sure yet if we are going to use it. But feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.Much loveDaniel

Stretch Goal!

Beauties, I spontaneously came up with a little idea. When we reach and keep €28,000, the inside or Black Roses Casino V4 Box will turn blood red (same as in V3).https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielschneider/brhotelI strive to make my Kickstarter campaigns as lively as possible with daily updates. It's important to me that every backer sees that I'm fully committed to each project and not just letting it drift along. The negative side of this is that there are always a handful of people who add every add-on several times. In the...

Beauties, I have secretly put 50 of the remaining Black Roses x Cartamundi decks online as an add-on on Kickstarter. I want everyone of you to get a chance to get a deck first before I post a public update.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielschneider/brhotel"The Black Roses x Cartamundi reprint was one of the first custom decks to feature Cartamundi's Slimline True Linen B9 Finish. In 2019, this deck was included as an add-on in the very first Black Roses Hotel campaign. Of the 500 decks printed, only 300 were made available for...

Choose wisely

A few thoughts before launch

Dear Patrons,A few hours before the launch of my Black Roses Hotel Kickstarter campaign, I would like to share some thoughts with you.You can check out the countdown on blackroses.cards.Over the past few weeks, I have been working hard to make the Black Roses Hotel Kickstarter campaign an entertaining and enjoyable experience for everyone. I have invested a lot of heart and soul and time in the process and I'm excited to see it come to life. However, I have noticed that I'm hardly getting any feedback. This is probably also due to the fa...

MONOGRAM

Ijust wanna leave this here. Can I get a 🤸🏽?PS: 2 days until launch!!1!1!1!123!https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielschneider/brhotel

KICKSTARTER PREVIEW

Beauties, the Kickstarter campaign for the Black Roses Hotel launches this Saturday. Here's a look at the campaign for you in advance:https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielschneider/brhotel?ref=3o0yj6&token=4837e5bcI think this is by far the most beautifully designed Kickstarter page I've ever made. I hope that all this work will of course appeal to you as well.I have indeed given a lot of thought to every detail, but sometimes one can't see the forest for the trees. Therefore, I am looking forward to your opinion and/or sugges...

Black Roses Credit Card Holder

Received these beauties today. I'm impressed. They will be available in the Early Check-In Bundle on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielschneider/brhotel

💳 EARLY CHECK-IN SPECIAL

Beauties, a bit more than 3 weeks until the launch of the Black Roses Hotel Kickstartercampaign.Forgive my absence the last few days. But that's only because I'm working furiously on all the details of the Kickstarter campaign and I don't think every step is really worth mentioning enough to make a separate post about it. However, I am really over the moon with the design of the campaign. I don't want to exaggerate, but I think it's my best looking campaign to date. I'll share everything with you very soon, before the re...

Holographic Hotel

144of these beauties on Kickstarter on August 3rd, deal?I wasn't sure if the Hotel V4s should get a gilded edition or not. Gilded editions greatly help every campaign create a strong push, but gilded USPCC decks are a little more complicated to produce. It takes about 4-6 weeks longer to produce these decks, which means I can't send them out at the same time as all the other Kickstarter rewards. The only solution to avoid making anyone wait longer is to simply send 2 packages. However, that would also mean paying for shipping twice, whic...

Digital Proofs

Check out the digital proofs. The printed proofs are already on their way to me because I want to be 100% sure that the color is as I imagine it. I suspect that the color will be too dark. However, I already have a solution for this. I would replace the purple CMYK color with a Pantone color. But first I'll wait and see, maybe I'll like the color on the printed proofs after all.Just in case you're wondering why the 0 of Hearts is turned face up. That's just something USPCC started doing a while ago for their orientation. One of ...
