Sticker Sheet #1 Update
Quick update about the stickers. With a small delay they are finally on the way to the Murphy's Magic warehouse. Originally I didn't want to offer them on the website but I needed to create a product page for them to offer them as free gift. And then I thought it's stupid not to offer them if you want them.In the "Merch" section you will now find the category "Stickers".https://blackroses.cards/collections/stickerBut please keep in mind, this will also be a free gift for all orders over 25€. I'll add this gift ...
10 Year Anniversary Edition
Marked or unmarked?
Ace of Clubs Glass
Besides my cards, I try to make blackroses.cards as interesting as possible with a wide range of other products. If you're a sucker for hidden reveals, I think you'll like these glasses as much as I do.The whole "Mugs & Glasses" category is new. Check it out:🟩 https://blackroses.cards/collections/mugs-glassesI'm in the final stages of finishing the 10 Year Anniversary Edition. Unfortunately, the smallest details are holding me up again. There is no real problem, but if I'm not 100% sure that everything is perfect, I g...
Black Vintage Casino (Pre-Order) + SURPRISE
You can pre-order the Black Vintage Casino Playing Cards now:https://blackroses.cards/products/black-vintage-casinoPASSWORD: veritasYour pre-orders will not only help me cover the production costs of this deck, but hopefully a good portion of the 10 Year Anniversary Edition. 🙏🏼Original I wanted to keep it a mystery item until you receive it but I decided that it makes more sense to let you know. There are also 100 black gilded Black Vintage Casino decks. Also numbered with a shiny black seal sticker. Please no false modesty. Even though the...
Black Vintage Casino (Digital Proofs)
Take a look at the digital proofs / print files. The production costs are much higher than I thought, thanks to the black matte paper I want to use. Nevertheless, I didn't want to do without it. In order to not to get into financial difficulties, the pre-order page for the Vintage Casino Supporters Club Edition deck will go online tomorrow.Instagram has recently introduced "Broadcast-Channels". I think this could become an important tool to promote future projects. I won't use the channel to post anything before you see it but a...
Black Roses 2014 Replica Deck
I'm still playing with the idea of a BR 2014 replica deck for the 10 Year Anniversary Kickstarter campaign. Fortunately, I found the original files of my very first deck on my old hard drive. The files are still saved on the MPC website but I'm not able to download the files. Over the years MPC also changed their tuck box and for a replica deck it's important to me that really every detail looks like the original deck. For those of you who don't know, I crowdfunded my very first deck in 2014 on a German crowdfunding platform. 938...

Raya
Since 3 1/2 weeks I have a new housemate - Raya, a Shi Tzu Maltese mix. She is 14 weeks old and turns my whole life upside down. I can tell you I haven't felt so tired in my entire life. It's a new stage of life for me, as I now have more responsibility than ever before. When she sleeps, I still somehow manage to get work done that I've left undone for a long time. Today I have finally sent the files for the Patreon exclusive Black Vintage Casinos to the printing company. One thing I have been putting off for 3 months. I reached the ...
Black Roses Sticker Sheet #1
I honestly don't really know why but you love stickers :D I also always have fun coming up with new stickers for each Kickstarter project. More often, however, the question has come up whether I want to offer stickers on my website. Hereby I finally put this into action. It's a pretty huge sticker sheet (Din A5 - 148 x 210mm, 5.8 x 8.3"). But the size could still change slightly depending on the production costs 😂Maybe I will do that in the future but I don't really want to sell them. It's supposed to be a free gift when y...

The last Muffin V1 decks
I asked Murphy's today if some Muffin decks are left after the Innocence Holo Kickstarter fulfillment. To my surprise they said that 31 regular decks and 5 gilded decks would be still availabe. I'll make 15 regular decks available very soon and 3 of the gilded decks. I'll send all the other decks to me.
BR Vintage Casino Collector's Boxes
Beauties, before I send out a newsletter I wanted to let you know first that I added a few of the last BR Vintage Casino Collector's Boxes to blackroses.cards.https://blackroses.cards/products/black-roses-vintage-casinoThe single BR Vintage Casino decks are already sold out on my website. But thanks to Murphy's Magic you'll be able to get the last few decks in your favorite magic / card shop very soon.I absolutely love how this deck and the collector's box turned out. Viewed as a "Gesamtkunstwerk" this is the deck I'...
Adjusting the Queen (Jumbo Index)
I have now adjusted almost every court card for the Jumo Index faces. The Queen of Spades was the most difficult to change.I used the court card from the Black Roses V1 2022 Edition since these are the most recent face cards with all 4 colors. In the first step I cut out everything inside the frame. After that I placed the cut out Queen onto the new frame for the Jumbo Index faces.I have adjusted the height so that it fits flush. Except for the cut spade symbol, it looks almost perfect now. But I wouldn't be me if the real work didn't st...
Innocence Infinity Cuts
Check out the video. Skyler Hoffman came to me with this brilliant piece of art.Pre-order yours now: https://blackroses.cards/products/innocence-infinity-cutEach 3D shadow box is handmade with great attention to detail in hours of work. That is why we offer you only a very limited number. Nevertheless, the pre-order function gives us the opportunity to see how many of you are interested. But currently we think 10 numbered Infinity Cuts is a nice number.
Elements Playing Cards
For various reasons, I have become very cautious when it comes to promoting a project from someone else. But in this case, I put a little more time and energy into the project myself. Chris, the creator of this project is a friend of mine and I helped him with the design and renders of the campaign page. Anna, the artist behind the Elements Playing Cards put about about 900 hours (!) into the artwork. This work shall not go unrewarded.🟩 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chriscards/chriscards-elements-playing-cards?ref=b8gzxaThe project is...
Jumbo Index
I know, I know but... hear me out :DAs a big fan of classic looking playing cards, I've always used existing face cards as a guide and modified them. I have not reinvented the wheel in this regard, because there is no need for it. Even though I have used many different court cards (Arrco, Dondorf, Vintage USPCC & the standard court cards with many variations) it's getting more and more difficult with every new deck idea to really make something special that doesn't feel like a repitation. Honestly said, sometimes I find it hard not ...
Muffin V2
Beauties, I'm currently working at full speed on the completion of the 2023 Christmas Orbit deck. It's always strange to have to get in the mood for Christmas in summer. :D As it is with every Orbit deck, unfortunately, I cannot reveal any details since it is up to Chris when he reveals something. But Chris has already announced it as one of the most beautiful Orbit decks. He might be right.Anyway, with all the things that are going on right now I also wanted to share a few thoughts and details with you about the Muffin V2 deck. The firs...
Black Vintage Casino (Patreon Exclusive)
I decided to give the Black Vintage Casino deck a black matte tuck box. This way, it does stand out compared to the pink deck and the other editions I have planned. But since it is a Patreon exclusive deck it also should be more special. It also fits better to the Black Polyantha Playing Cards with the black matte tuck. But this edition will have darker matte paper tuck.I didn't receive any samples of this paper yet, but I'm almost certain that it can't look bad. My hope is that I can also use this paper for the 10 Year Anniversary ...

BR
Dear patrons, I wanna use this post to say thank you once more for being here with me. I put all my time, heart and soul into the cards I create. I love what I do and find it hard to imagine doing anything else. But this self-employment with all its problems can sometimes drive you to the edge of madness. I wouldn't be able anymore to do it with the same dedication without your support. Thank you very much!News about the new Patreon deck will follow very soon. I tried to find the best paper for the tuck box to make this deck premium af.A ne...

The Creation of Black Roses [Video]
Tonight I wallow a bit in nostalgia. I luckily got an old hard drive working again that had important files on it. Like the creation of my Black Roses Playing Cards. In the past, in order to have backups of each design step, I liked to work in such a way that I create a new file with each new step. As a result, I can show you the exact process of creation in a video.Creativity is my constant opponent. But in the creation of the Black Roses back design in 2014 I was in a creative tunnel. The whole design was created in one sleepless night. Only t...
10 Year Anniversay Edition
I want to share with you some of my thoughts regarding the 10 Year Anniversay Edition.Since a few days I'm working harder on the completion of this deck. I will make another request to USPCC, but I don't see much hope there, so I will go back to WJPC for this edition. It is too risky for USPCC to combine MetalLuxe and normal CMYK color when the foil and CMYK are very close to each other at the edge - so they simply don't accept these deck designs anymore.Although I don't owe anyone any justification, I already know that question...

Redrawn 1885 Bicycle Faces PDF DOWNLOAD
After countless hours of work, I finally finished redrawing the faces cards of the very first Bicycle deck. I hope that these faces will serve card creators as an alternative to the standard and Arrco faces. Historically important faces that have definitely been missing in this crisp and clear form.https://blackroses.cards/products/redrawn-1885-bicycle-face-card-templates-pdf-downloadAs Patron you get 50% off with "P225".Much loveDaniel
SoCal Playing Cards Joker
Last night Henry from socalplayingcards.com contacted me with a Joker idea for their new deck. A bear on a bicycle - immidiately fell in love with the idea and designed it today. I love variation of original existing designs. That's why you see an astronaut on a bicyle on most Orbit deck Jokers.Take a lot at the 8 of Spades reveal (8oS) on the stone instead of the "808" that you see on all Bicycle Jokers. This is another one of those ideas I'm incredibly proud of. Visually so close together but you can use it now for magic trick...

Become a BR Vintage Casino Jack
Beauties, check out the link:https://blackroses.cards/products/vintage-casino-jsFirst come, first served. But don't worry, it will not be the last custom court card.Since the Patreon exclusive black edition of the Vintage Casinos is only limited to 300 decks I thought it would be only fair to add your card in the this AND in the next green gold edition.I don't need to sugarcoat anything, becoming a Jack in a Black Roses deck doesn't come cheap. But I think that this price is completely justified for what you get in return. For 400...
