Quick Critique: Ant-Man and the Wasp
Ant-Man has been my favorite of the Marvel movies. Probably the only thing holding back the first one was its lackluster villain. Ant-Man 2 drops the heist elements, which I was a big fan of, but they really stepped it up as far developing their characters. Without the heist elements, it is kind of just another super hero movie, but it's exactly what I want from a super hero movie. It's actually funny, not quip-y. Quick Critique: Incredibles 2 I loved The Incredibles 1, it's great as a super hero movie and just as a movie too. Incredibles 2 is... it's fine. It's good. It's like one of those direct-to-VHS Disney movie sequels. It's competent but not as good as the original and struggles to justify its own existence outside of making more money out of an established franchise. It doesn't have anything to say so it comes across as kind of generic. They had 14 years to write a good story and they didn't make good use of that time....
