once Kobayashi Issa was asked to submit a haiku to a competition that included a cash prize. the subject was on new fallen snow. thus we get this snarky gem;Writing shit about new fallen snow For the rich Is not art.i'd like to believe he won but the story isn't clear on that detail.

those familiar with my old comic A Javan Tiger (Tiger Tea is a kind of stand alone sequel) would note that old Lulu would never have acknowledged boundaries. she was kind of a horrible character then.

my first dulcimer i no longer play. i can't imagine the cost of repairs needed but would eventually like to have it professionally done. it was built by my grandpa from one of two kits ordered from an Earthways catalog sometime back in the 70s. the other lost somehow. Agi's dulcimer is based on the Earthways design but if i remember correctly round and hummingbird shaped soundholes as well as the classic hearts were also available.

a few times in my life everything comes together and seems to make sense at the moment. in retrospect i have no idea why or where any of it is really going. and it's taken me long enough but i think i'm becoming okay with that not knowing business.

it's been a nice christmas morning. gifts are parceled out, food is in the oven. it's a gray christmas which is a christmas miracle for those of us doomed to work a snow plow.

the first time i stood up to a bully was in the fifth grade in class. i threw him across three desks. i was so livid that if the teacher hadn't been there i would have done a lot more. i count myself a peaceful person. but sometimes you have to fight back. π peace at the cost of complacency is hardly peaceful.
