Mid-November Update!

Hi folks! Another update, if you can believe it! (As always, check out the slideshow above for more images!)Models, models, models!Now that we have someone who can help us with sculpting, we can finally tackle some objects like this 1st Class Lounge sconce! Still a lot of work to do, but it's getting there!These sconces were pretty complicated objects, maybe the most complicated on the ship, and basically nothing about them is symmetrical. It's one of those objects that's haunted THG for years in the form of low-detail Sketchup mode...

What are some of our modelers working on?

THG modelers Jordan, Matteo, Pavel, Sehba, Tim, Tom, and Vicente are very talented! Here's a sample of some of their works for THG: various fittings and hero pieces that will be seen all over the ship.Can you identify the models and where they were used aboard the ship? Beam Progress and More!

Even More BeansWork has been continuing on placement of beams, moving fore-aft and down to F Deck. F Deck had a bit of fun in it in the form of the area of deck under the 1st Class baths that was dropped 18 inches to allow for extra ceiling height. For the time-being, beams will continue, though progress will slow towards the fore-aft ends due to the more complex angles involved for brackets. Titanic's Delivery Trip & Southampton Arrival - April 3rd/4th, 1912

April 3rd/4th 113 years ago today, Titanic had arrived in Southampton after a successful voyage from Belfast. Titanic's Sea Trials

113 years ago on April 2nd, Titanic underwent several hours of sea trials - or “turning circles” as 2nd Officer Charles Lightoller so plainly described them. This important series of maneuvers was meant to prove her seaworthiness to the British Board of Trade and was required by law.
