Pause on Updates until 2nd week of October

Accidentally chipped a tooth and exposed an abscess. Tooth needed to be pulled, but couldn't. Even double injections of anaesthetic didn't take, nerve remained too sensitive. Now I have to live with a constant dull pain from the pressure of a temporary tooth cap and an antibiotic regimen for a week until I can come back and have it extracted. Better than blinding pain at an accidental bite or touch with the tongue though.Pain and anti-pain meds a bit too distracting for creative work for the moment.Sorry all.

Maria Clara Interlude - yea or nay?

This assumes you have caught up to the story via http://karavanir.com/noli-toc .There is a planned outline for Noli Me Tank in a Mall, but after Crisostomo's recent bout of mania in-story, there have been clamors for a Maria Clara response chapter to this. It may delay the progress of the next chapter though.Do you want one?

End of the Month Report

Regarding MerStory:It's pretty obvious that MerStory's very simple art style is to evoke a storybook atmosphere.Actually there's a significant difference between Book1 and Book2 coloring methods. Book 1 was done with Paint Shop Pro 9, Book 2 all done digitally with Paint Tool Sai. Unfortunately I don't quite remember anymore the methods I used to get that soft dreamy style in Book 1.Because it is a deliberate storybook style, I've long been searching for a way to reproduce a real media look, but in SAI, because it's stil...

Everything's on Fire and This is Fine (Feb update)

Here's what happened this February. Writerblog is back up. My friend has decided to quit his job and focus on finishing his novel. I've posted some articles about my writing process up there too. Book 1 of IAWJM is done. As I noted in my article, that's a lot of exposure in such unreasonably short time. SN40k has updated as promised by the end of the month. A lot of people have been asking me about this, so I can't disappoint them. Finally, finally, after ten years and 790k words in... It will end. MerStory updated once and went...

They're All Coming Back To You Now

Merry Christmas! 2018 has certainly been a weird year and it feels weirder that it's almost done. While I haven't been updating this Patreon page, the projects have been proceeding apace at the usual sites. For now, have daily updates of MerStory again until New Year!Book 2 is actually done, just need to color in all those clips and make the story posts. Noli Me Tank in a Mall returns on January 2019. Pietro's Let's Plays also have a sizable backlog of screencaps ready to post, I am just leery because weird real life coincidences...

Solarboy Returns! (2)

It's amazing how much we take for granted even though we've survived well enough without them before.Don't you remember CRT televisions and monitors? Big, heavy, blurry glass boxes. For most of a century, the television set in its electron gun form has dominated the culture war. No other instrument shaped society so completely other than the gun.A picture is worth a thousand words, and a moving picture is worth a million lines of speech. It is THE very image of conspicuous consumption. Refrigerators have some use, but televisions wer...

Solarboy Returns! (1)

Right, well, it's super clear by now that I love solar power. But it's not the FREE power that really tugs at me, but the freedom of power. To finally be protected from stupid power flickers, to be able to continue writing and digitally painting even when the lines are dead.Otherwise, what do you expect me to do, use a typewriter? :p(Real typewriters are oddly expensive now, for some reason.)It's the ultimate expression of free power, unchained and democratic, available to all wherever the sun shines. For this modern connected societ...
