It's incredibly important for birds that come from a bad environment, have feather destructive behaviors and have previously been on an unhealthy diet get LOTS of opportunities to bathe. Although Sunny converted to our ideal diet (our pellets + seasonal feeding system) getting him to get onto our seasonal feeding system was MUCH harder than the pellet conversion. Sunny started out on Roudybush pellets which I've found to be the easiest transition when it comes to pellet to pellet conversion.So I used an OLDDDD trick in my book of tricks to get Sunny onto the fresh food and I was quite happy with myself for interfering...

The wait is over! (Episode 1 with Sunny!)

Sunny is Dave's first project bird ever. He is considered a "worst case" based on his background of being in a hoarding situation for over 20 years. He came to the rescue with scissor beak and so his beak will be something we will have to keep a consistent eye on. He also had NO PERCHES whatsoever in his original enclosure and seems to have a harder time getting around.
