Gorilla Warfare - Act 1 [Dwarf Fortress: The Long Night Mod]

The year is XX250. Humanity as we knew it not longer exists. Earth is a ruined, cybernetic wasteland, littered with the remnants of a dead empire. While the descendants of humanity fight over their former home, a new power rises from the rubble. The time of the Apes has come. This is the start of a modded playthrough of Dwarf Fortress, featuring The Long Night total conversion mod by squamous. It's an extremely impressive mod, and anyone who likes Dwarf Fortress and is a fan of apocalyptic settings should definitely try it out!

Bonus Drawing: Urdrak Boulderblood

Hey there folks! I thought I'd share a little drawing I did for a D&D session I'll be playing in soon. It's just a private thing, it's not going to be recorded or uploaded or anything, but since I drew this in a similar style to my DF videos, I thought some people might be interested in seeing it.I'm thinking I'll play him as a war-weary former-soldier guy (with a Russian accent). He became disillusioned of the military life after a terrible defeat where he lost his eye, and many of his fellow soldiers. He spent years ro...

Frigidhill - Episode 3

This version comes with a lot of rebalances that supposedly make stress much easier to deal with. Hopefully this will allow us to try out some more risky playstyles without having to worry as much about tantrums and stress.Artbook goes up tomorrow!

What should Frigidhill be constructed out of?

Barren as the Lonely Frost is, there are some interesting materials here for us to build above-ground structures out of. If we should manage to secure the surface, what should the fort be built from?A. Earthenware BricksThe plateau is absolutely covered in blood-red clay. It would be a shame to let it all go to waste! Brick walls would look quite striking against the snow. We have so much clay here that we could build a large structure relatively quickly using bricks.B. MetalThis area is rich in metals. We've found ores of Copper, Silver, a...

Frigidhill - Episode 1

As war rages across the continent, an expedition of dwarves and humans flees north to the Lonely Frost - a Terrifying Tundra. Amidst clay, rock, and ice, these fearless few seek the untapped wealth of this cursed place. It's always exciting to start a new series - a short as it might be. An evil tundra is not an easy place to establish a long-term settlement...The artbook will be uploaded tomorrow.

Where will we establish the next fortress?

As war rages on across the Folded Continents, the powers-that-be consider expanding their hold over the region. Three fortresses have been proposed in response to the changing balance of power in the area. Which of these new settlements will be constructed?A. The Vanguard of the MagequeenThe Magequeen has learned much from observing her creations, and has begun assembling an army of night creatures to fight on her behalf. The forces of Chantedfins now seek to establish a fortress near the three remaining necromancer towers, near the eastern sea...

The Guild of Strangeness - Ep4 [Finale] [Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode]

As the four night creatures travel further north, they make a dangerous detour. Are these mighty warriors strong enough to survive an incursion into the very heart of enemy lands?--------------------------------------------After much delay, the final episode of The Guild of Strangeness is out! I put this one off for a while, oh how I hate goodbyes. But the Universe of Soul isn't going anywhere. We'll continue to explore this world in fortress and perhaps adventure mode, and see how the story of The Folded Continent unravels. Great thing...

Episode Delay

This next video has been slow going - I haven't been entirely sure how to portray it. Don't expect it on the usual midweek schedule. I'm not sure when it will go up, so hang tight!

The Guild of Strangeness - Ep3 [Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode]

The night creatures, seeking adventure and glory, start their trek north, towards the Dwarven heartland. But vast, goblin-controlled territories lie between the adventurers and their destination...I had fun with this one, there's some pretty amusing moments throughout. Rovod also finally gets a voice! Felt like he hadn't gotten much attention so far so I gave him a little more to do in this episode. Let me know what you think!Artbook will be uploaded tomorrow morning.

Artbook: The Guild of Strangeness - Ep2

The artbook for The Guild of Strangeness episode 2 is ready! This week we had a shorter video, so the artbook isn't as long.

The Guild of Strangeness - Ep2 [Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode]

The next Guild of Strangeness episode is out! A shorter one this week, because of some time off I took for thanksgiving. The artbook for this episode will be out tomorrow. Gold and Adamantine patrons should take a look at the previous post - it features a poll for what we do next in adventure mode.

MortStrudel post Goblin Teaser from patreon

Goblin Teaser

A minor drawing from the next episode. It occurred to me that I made this guy both look and sound like Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons, entirely without realizing it.This next episode is going to be short, but if I keep up the pace this evening it should be up tonight. This'll put us back on a Wednesday upload schedule, without missing a week.

MortStrudel post Old Udil design from patreon

Old Udil design

Here's a slightly older WIP drawing of Udil. I originally gave her a much more human face, with the intention of making her look more birdlike (she is covered in feathers, after all). However, I felt she looked too "normal" for a necromancer experiment, and the antennae made it hard to get the bird idea across. Instead, I went with an insect look. I think the updated look is a bit more monster-like and keeps the antennae from looking too out-of-place. I see her as a sort of moth-person now - shame she doesn't have wings.

Delay on The Guild of Strangeness - Ep2

Good evening! I've had a lovely Thanksgiving with family over the past week, and I hope you've all enjoyed yourselves too. However, between spending time with family and getting this Patreon up and running, I've taken quite a bit of time off from video-making this week. Expect delays on the next video. Worst case scenario I'll end up skipping this week and uploading a somewhat longer video next week. Thanks for understanding!
