It is taking forever -_-
Got a lot of exciting stuff to make videos about, but the latest project is just not ending ...
Some progress with the pressure sensor matrix
This 24x24 matrix on foil is supposed to be the last experiment before committing all the expensive materials to the full size 180x60 yoga-mat-compatible version. Not looking forward to working with all the adhesives and laying out the multiplexer / demultiplexer board with hundreds of parts ...
I am supposed to do this for a 60 x 180 cm mat
And I am dreading it (:The copper tape is very difficult to put down perfectly. One tiny mistake causes a permanent crease or worse.
Got a real firmware update through
But after that it still didn't work :((
Anyone wanting to file a patent?
Temporary, solvent-free, metallic nail polish foil. Also Available in silver. (aka copper tape, aluminium tape)
Few will see what a big deal this is
But since you are here, I guess likelihood of understanding is at its maximum :)This is the memory chip from the damned Zoom H4n audio recorder I have been working on for weeks. The fact that I am getting legible data means that I am finally talking to the chip correctly and I may be very close to manually flashing the firmware.(I was dangerously close to giving up on this one ... )
Last few parts for another big project
300 $ worth of copper sticky tape in that bag ... that'll be fun ... I hope
New toy
This is an accelerometer-based screwdriver from the manufacturer of the infamous TS100 soldering iron.Very good quality, but I am not sure if there is any market share left between manual screwdrivers, cordless drills and industrial corded electric screwdrivers. Will have to use it for a while before I can judge that.Industrial screwdriver
5V Arduino Mega running stably on 4.3V
... with an artificially bad USB cable (10 Ohm). I am trying to get closer to the flash chips max input high voltage of 3.9V without including roughly 48 level shifters ...
Product videos?
I am being approached by many companies at the moment. Everybody wants their products in my videos. What do you think about it?My thoughts: I am trying to make the product videos 'on the side' when I am not busy with my fully independent DIY videos (like repair and design projects). I am charging you Patreon people only for latter and I will try to release these once per month like before. My concern is that it looks like I am becoming a complete shill for the Chinese while in reality I just can't refuse a free toy ;)
PID Toaster
It can't follow a proper reflow profile but I am sure it would do fine for a quick batch of boards. Or for heating etching solution to 50°C ... or aging components?
Another synthesizer module
I still need one for the empty slot in the Elektor Formant, but again, this seems a little boring, don't you think?
The Chinese sure like my videos
Now they are using International DHL Express to get stuff to me quicker. Hope I can keep up :)
Replicated an ancient nixie tube driver
For the Keithley 164
Hope this one will expose circuit board
No bumpy linear rails, no slow, proprietary motor controller ... I think it will :)
Bricked firmware on this beauty
Would be a drastic increase in audio quality if I managed to repair it. But I think I would have to do a lot of RE on a .bin firmware file and figure out exactly what to write where on a large flash chip ...
Something I haven't published
But I didn't sign an NDA either so here we go ...
Well it is better than before ...
but has a dead display now :(
