I just got the 3/15/2022 patch and tested my mods. All seemed to work without errors. Food & Beverage Supplier License (Patreon Preview)
The Food & Beverage Supplier License mod provides a Reward trait (named 'Food & Beverage Supplier License') that is available in the Rewards Store for 500 satisfaction points. Food & Beverage Supplier License Reward Trait IconOnce you buy this trait and add it to your sim, they can sell crafted items to various businesses for a higher price (x2 and higher) than they would get by selling them directly from their inventory. This allows your sim to make a better living crafting without going to the trouble of running a retail store and man...
Magazine Kit (Public Release)
Note to Patrons: I've added SpaDay and Farm and Garden Magazine since the preview release. Also a rack recolor with the covers of the magazines replaced with the ones in the kit.The Magazine Kit adds functional magazines to the Sims 4. Instead of empty props or imagined activity inside a tent, the Magazine Kit has magazines with useful effects. I tried to avoid making this a cheat mod, since you can just cheat your skills already. I was hoping to simulate the effect of reading a magazine. There are currently ten magazines. Each one provides ...
Note to Patrons
I'm pausing the Patron billing coming up tomorrow, since I didn't drop anything new for you in February. I did a fair amount of work on some things that I hope to get to you in March.Reminder again: I need your help in testing more than I need the money from Patreon. I'm hoping that you will help me out with that once I get some releases tidied up and ready to go.-- A Simsonian Librarian.
Sims Patch 1.84.171 News
The news for patch 1.84.171 released today is that there is no news, as far as my mods are concerned.Nothing seems to be broken, dig piles work, custom spells work, the broomba flies around, the cafeteria worker shows up for work, and you can still poop in the bucket. So far, so good.In other news, working really hard on the Archaeology Kit update. It's taken so long, it better be good, right? :D The good news for me is that the patch didn't seem to break any of that, either. Or any of the other in-progress mods I've posted here or ...
Updates update (various mods)
Here’s a look into the Simsonian Library workshop this week. NOTE: I will not finish this all this week, lol.Archaeology KitI’m getting really close to a preview release of the Archaeology Kit 2.0. I did a lot of reorganizing and detail type work on this over the weekend. There is one more mission that I need to finish, but I want to get you all something to start looking at before any more delay.I initially had more missions planned (there are currently 17 missions, and 7 are repeatable), but the reorganizing I did this weekend should make...
Farm Factory Mod (Work in Progress Release)
This is one of the mods I started on my holiday vacation. It all began with the lot pictured below. My 'Farm-Tech Proving Grounds'. An enormous farm with high taxes.Simsco Farm Factory (tentative name)Found under Large AppliancesI sometimes like to play Farm type lots, trying out various ways to make enough money to pay the taxes on the lot. It seems really hard, to be honest. The larger the lot, the more money per harvest, but the higher the taxes. And the money from selling produce isn't that great. Turning it into Preserves or Con...
Pirate Treasure Mod (Public Release)
Pirate Treasure is my take on treasure maps and buried treasure chests. Because beachcombing isn't quite lucrative enough.WHAT THIS MOD DOESIt adds a new type of treasure map, named 'Pirate Treasure Map', that is labeled with a location that refers to a specific Base Game or Island Living neighborhood. If you travel to that neighborhood, then click on the appropriate Pirate Treasure Map in your inventory, your Sim will search for and find a dirt pile to dig up and find a Pirate Treasure chest.Opening the chest will give your Sim thr...
Magazine Kit (Patreon Preview Pre-release)
The Magazine Kit adds functional magazines to the Sims 4. Instead of empty props or imagined activity inside a tent, the Magazine Kit has magazines with useful effects. I tried to avoid making this a cheat mod, since you can just cheat your skills already. I was hoping to simulate the effect of reading a magazine. There are currently eight magazines, with more planned. Each one provides a buff that speeds up skill increases 50% for the skills that are appropriate to the magazine, eg. reading Fitness Magazine makes it easier to learn fitness skil...

Pirate Treasure Mod Preview
Pirate Treasure is my take on treasure maps and buried treasure chests. Because beachcombing isn't quite lucrative enough.I started getting the idea for this mod while I was working on the Archaeology Kit. I thought that the Treasure Maps built into the game were a neat idea, but the implementation is kind of underwhelming (if you have one with you when you dig up a dirt pile, you get an extra MySims doll or something, idk). I also wished that buried treasure chests had been a thing in Island Living. There is buried and sunken treasure, and...
Classic RPG Spells 1.1.1 Prerelease Update
Here's a minor update to the prerelease version of Classic RPG Spells. The original announcement post with descriptions of the new spells is here.Changes:I renamed 'Leosim's Tiny Hut' to just 'Tiny Hut', to avoid confusion with the modder of the same name. Also changed the effect of the Stinking Cloud cloud to be that it causes sims who come near it to lose hygiene. Which actually makes a lot more sense for a spell named 'Stinking Cloud', come to think of it...Anyway, if this all looks good, I'll be opening i...
Classic RPG Spells 1.1.0 Prerelease
I added 7 new spells, all drawn from the pages of the old school AD&D 1st Edition Player's Handbook (...since that's the only one I ever owned). I've been working on some of them for quite a while, and only recently learned how to implement them. I have a few more spells in the pipeline that I'm still working on, but for today, here's what I have:HasteAdept-level Practical SpellTo Use, cast on another Sim or yourself. Target of the spell will run very fast like the 'Vampire Run' perk. Lasts a few hours.Note: If you t...

Archaeology Kit Progress Update
I've been adding a lot of new features this last month (and have been a bit too quiet here), so here's a preview of what's coming up.New Skill: Sim LoreSim Lore is to the Archaeology Kit mod what Selvadoradian culture skill is to Jungle Adventure. It serves as a knowledge of history, and higher skill allows your sim to authenticate somewhat faster. The Sim Lore skill allows your sim to Identify Mysterious Relics, and then at higher skill, use those relics. You can improve your Sim Lore skill by authenticating artifacts, attending Ski...
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Are you a wizard with too many chores around the house to have enough time for wizarding? Try the new Sorcerer's Apprentice! Let it take care of your mundane cleaning, repairing and gardening needs while you spend your time stirring the cauldron and reading dusty old books. This buyable item is usable only by spellcasters, since it's powered by magic. Imbue it with magical energy and it will roam around your lot cleaning, repairing things and doing your gardening chores. Recharge it quickly and easily with magic, and it will run for hour...

Patch 1.79.93 Notes
I spent the evening play testing my mods with the today's patch, and didn't notice any issues. If anyone notices any post-patch issues with Archaeology Kit, Simsco Instant Lunchroom, Patasimnia Adventure Toilet or Spellbook Injector V2, let me know!General Mod NewsI have a set of updates for the Archaeology Kit that I'm working on pulling together, and an update of the Archaeology Kit should be my next release. The new spells I previewed to patrons are still in the pipeline. I came up with work-in-progress versions of 8 more, bringing...
Spellbook Injector V2 (Public Release)
This is the 'for real, complete and official' release of the Spellbook Injector fix I posted here last month. It's the same script as before, but includes the .package file, rather than having you download the old version yourself. Also a new Readme, explaining that I've adopted this the mod as a maintainer for the time being. If you've been using the fix, this is the same fix, so no pressing need to update. Future updates, if required, will be released here in this form.If you're unfamiliar with the mod here's what i...
Patasimnia Adventure Toilet
The last thing you want to worry about when you’re scaling Mt Komorebi or charting the unknown depths of the Forgotten Grotto is having to find a bush to go to the bathroom.Well, search no more! Outdoor equipment manufacturer Patasimnia proudly introduces the Patasimnia Adventure Toilet that you can keep in your inventory right next to your tent and cooler (and camping chairs, bicycle, jet ski, sailboat, 72 apples, etc…). Ready to place in the world anywhere for use, but look for somewhere private, since your sim won't want to go to the...
New Spells to Test
As I mentioned earlier in the week, I've been working on some new spells. Here are four to start with. I will be making a final release of these after they get tested a little while, so there will be another download in the future that will be public.EarthquakeAdept-Level Untamed SpellTo use, click on the ground, and you'll see a spell come up under the Magic category named Summon Earthquake. It will trigger a major earthquake based on the Quake zone lot trait. It's a little more powerful than the lot trait, though, since it will not...
Coming up this weekend: New Spells
I've been working on some new spells, since I got inspired after getting the Spellbook Injector working again. I have a very busy week at my day job, so I'm going to wait to release them for testing until the weekend. This list is NOT A PROMISE, but I want to let you know what's ahead, since I'm excited about these and can hardly contain myself.New SpellsAlready Completed (maybe testing this weekend)Lightning StrikeKnockTurn UndeadEarthquakePlanned (I know how to implement these or have them partially completed)Animal FriendshipD...
Script Fix Kit for Spellbook Injector Mod
The Spellbook Injector mod by r3m, needed to enable most custom Spells for the Sims 4 Realm of Magic pack, has been raising exceptions on Macs for some time, and is reported to cause problems with Tomes and Market Stalls on all platforms. Unfortunately, the author apparently hasn't been heard from in over 2 years.Since I like to use custom spells, and I know a lot of other people do too, I decompiled the script with the spellbook injector mod, fixed some of the problems and recompiled it. The fix appears to work, and has been tested by my p...
Simsco Instant Lunchroom
No matter where you are, or what you do, you need to eat. Simsco, a commercial kitchen supply giant, has developed this automatically staffing cafeteria line to solve that problem.Put this cafeteria station on nearly any lot (hidden lots excluded for the time being) and a cafeteria server will show up three times per day to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. No more shall University students be the only Sims privileged enough to dine on soggy BLTs out of a steam table! The Instant Lunchroom is a handy way to keep Sims well fed while they engage ...
News on the mission career addition
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I was starting to work on a mission career addition to the Archaeology Kit.Well, the work-in-progress continues. I have more missions now with more variety in the types objectives you need to accomplish. One type of mission I'm working on this weekend is an expedition-type situation. You go to a specific lot, a few other Archaeologists show up and everyone starts looking for dig piles and digging up artifacts.I'm trying to think of some things that can be done during one of these expeditions. Findi...
Spellbook Injector Fix Test
I enjoy using the Spellbook Injector by r3m, but alas, it's been throwing exceptions for a while on Macs, and there are reports that it causes problems with the market stalls in the Realm of Magic. Unfortunately the author, r3m, has apparently not been heard from for close to two years.I decompiled their script, fixed the exception problem on Macs (had to do with logging), eliminated the market stall injection for Tomes, and packaged it back up.It's been working for me pretty well over the last few months. No exceptions, and all the spel...
Archaeology Kit 1.0.5 Update
Here's an update after today's Sims 4 Patch 177.131. Fixes the issues with dig piles and dirt clumps failing to deliver any items, as well as some tuning updates to match new game definitions. The patch has only been out about 9 hours, so let me know if you find any other issues.
Sims 4 Patch 177.131 (2021-07-20) Note
It looks like the Sims 4 patch today broke parts of the Archaeology Kit. "Broken" meaning dig piles no longer deliver dirt clumps, and dirt clumps no longer deliver artifacts.I already installed the patch and extracted the new game tuning, and I can see what changed. As soon as I wrap an empty <U> tag to around 150 "object_rewards" blocks in the Mod's tuning, I'll make an update available.
Archaeology Kit News
I have some minor updates ready for the Archaeology Kit, but I'm going to wait until after the Cottage Living patch is released in case anything breaks (which is kind of unlikely, since they won't be modifying Archaeology in it, but who knows). No major additions planned for this update yet, just some bug fixes and improvements to some of the relics. I would like to add a few more artifacts as well, so that might happen before I release it.
