All other shots in this near 3-minute Starbarians short (including credits) have cleaned up and coloured animation and a finished background. Hello, dear patrons!!I've just returned from a 3-night stay in Bordeaux, France that was PURELY FOR BUSINESS REASONS. Hello dear Patrons!It feels weird. This is the longest I have spent not animating in years, and I don't intend to make a habit of this "not animating" thing. The Starbarians graphic novel is a huge undertaking and, once again, I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Why didn't I start with a 25 or 50 page comic? KILLGAR'S KODE 2 RELEASED!
Holy snowcones, do I have a LOT to say about this thing!Honestly, one of my most challenging projects ever despite its SEEMINGLY small scope.I don't want to be too negative but I'll just say that this cartoon became an OBLIGATION. Having the Starbarians permanently sitting in their ship discussing things does NOT represent the limit of my ambitions for them (as you know). If I'd have known this project would take as long as it did, I would have prioritised the graphic novel or the far more visually exciting, story-driven Episode 4. ...
So Many Killgarians!
I've just been drawing so many Killgarians as of late. Colourist Ben Sawyer and I have been slowly tackling the huge number of illustrated "lore" images required for the overdue Killgar's Kode 2 - these are just a few.A lot of the cutaways are going to be animated (as in the CHOMPING example shown) which is something I've never really tried with fully coloured characters. We have some really fun sequences in that more limited style!This cartoon is grossly overdue....I know....but it's also GROSSLY funny. I should be done...

A little later than planned but I am really gunning for it! It will be out this month!Killgar's Kode ep 2 contains much more lore and comedy than the previous installment, not to mention far more fully-animated wraparound segments. I think you'll love it.
